Finland has announced details for its upcoming Eurovision Song Contest national selection. The Finnish national broadcaster, YLE, has announced that the national final, “UMK 2025,” will take place on February 8th, 2025, at Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland’s third-largest city. This marks the fourth time the venue, which can accommodate 15,000 spectators, will host the event.
Ticket sales for UMK 2025 are set to begin on October 3rd at 9:00AM (8:00AM CEST).
Diverse Lineup Teased for UMK 2025
As anticipation builds for UMK 2025, fans eagerly await the reveal of the competing artists and songs, expected to be announced in January. Tapio Hakanen, head of the UMK jury, has provided intriguing hints about the upcoming competition line-up:
“This season, UMK will see both a great continuation of Finnish pop tradition and a star of the future, waiting for their opportunity to shine bright. We will get to witness energetic band energy, hear German language in an UMK song, dance to the beat of an epic dance banger and be moved by one of the finest ballads in UMK’s history. The line-up is crowned by a song that makes you dance and cry at the same time”.
Finland has enjoyed a string of successes in recent years, qualifying for the Eurovision final four consecutive times. The country achieved its best result in years when Käärijä finished second in the 2023 contest in Liverpool.
