Tommy Cash, one of the contestants in the Estonian Eurovision selection “Eesti Laul 2025,” believes his chances of winning are very high. What’s the reason for his high self-confidence?

Last week, 15 out of 16 contestants for the Estonian Eurovision selection “Eesti Laul 2025” were announced, with the 16th and final contestant to be chosen by the public in early January. One of the prominent contestants on the list is rapper Tommy Cash, who now feels very confident about winning the local selection and the right to represent Estonia at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.

Tommy Cash’s Confidence

Tommy Cash claims he is sure that the organizers of the Estonian Eurovision selection “Eesti Laul 2025” did not want to miss the opportunity to include him in the list of candidates to represent Estonia at the upcoming Eurovision. Furthermore, he believes he is the best option to represent Estonia at Eurovision 2025.

Cash also said in an interview with the Estonian National Broadcaster ERR that he had no doubt his song would be chosen for the Estonian Eurovision selection, which determines which artist will represent Estonia, and added:

“I always felt inside that [the judges] would definitely pick that song because I don’t think Eesti Laul is stupid and I don’t think they would pass up the opportunity for me to be in there as I think I could be the best representative for Estonia.”

According to Cash, strategically, this is the best time in his career to represent Estonia at Eurovision. He commented on this:

“Because I have been working with Käärijä (Finland 2023) and I started working with a producer who also produced the Finnish Eurovision song ‘Cha Cha Cha.’ Then there was this moment where I made a little joke on stage and said I was going to Eurovision and it snowballed so much from there. “When I was walking down the street, all the fans were like, ‘yeah, yeah, Eurovision!’ The internet picked up on it too and so, I feel like young people in Estonia have made up their minds about who is going to Eurovision. Of course, I also hope that everyone will like the song and I will do my best. But you never know. However, I would like to say with confidence that I could go to Eurovision right now.”

If Tommy Cash doesn’t win the local Eurovision pre-selection, he said he would be okay with the results and added:

“I’m totally fine with it, I understand and people will just have to imagine what would have happened if Tommy Cash had gone to Eurovision. I’m giving people the chance to think that I could actually go, because the competition actually starts if I were to win Eesti Laul, which is very important.”

He further added that if he doesn’t win, he would be satisfied with a top-five result. In response to being selected, Cash describes his song “Espresso Macchiato,” which will be revealed on December 6, in one word – captivating. And said:

“It’s something new for everyone. I’m often asked what I think about such a video or picture. Everything I do has a context for me, but for every person it’s different. Let people listen to it for themselves.”

On the question of competing again in the Estonian Eurovision pre-selection “Eesti Laul,” he firmly stated he doesn’t intend to participate in the competition again, saying:

“Why? When I’m already going to Eurovision and I’m going to do it in such a legendary way.”
