Malta in Eurovision: The Maltese national broadcaster, PBS, has confirmed that Malta will participate in Eurovision 2026, which will be held in Austria, and is expected to select its representative through the “MESC 2026” national selection.

The Maltese national broadcaster, PBS, has officially confirmed Malta’s participation in Eurovision 2026, set to take place in Austria. Malta will once again select its entry via the “MESC 2026” national selection, as it did this year. In addition, Malta has also confirmed the return of its annual songwriting camp, which will feature many well-known songwriters.

Malta is the twelfth country to express interest in participating in Eurovision 2026, following Denmark, Greece, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Finland, the Netherlands, Serbia, and the host country, Austria.

This year, Malta will hold the Malta Eurovision Music Exchange Camp for the third time. The camp aims to bring together songwriters and producers from Malta and across Europe to collaborate with Maltese singers ahead of the national selection. Registration for the camp is now open to artists wishing to participate, and applications will be accepted until June 5. The camp itself will take place from June 15 to June 24.

Last year’s camp resulted in 18 songs that competed in the Maltese national selection, with many participants also working on entries for other countries’ national selections for Eurovision 2025.

Among the songwriters set to participate in the camp are: Sarah Bonnici, Malta’s 2024 representative; The Busker, Malta’s 2023 representatives; Linnea Deb, who has written seven different Eurovision songs including the 2015 winning entry; and Melanie Wehbe, who has written Denmark’s entries for 2019, 2024, and 2025.
