Twenty-five songs are set to compete in the OGAE Second Chance 2025, a contest featuring songs from various national Eurovision pre-selections that did not advance to Eurovision. Which songs were chosen to participate?
OGAE, the official network of Eurovision fan clubs, has revealed the 25 songs that will compete this year in the “Second Chance” contest. This competition features songs that participated in national Eurovision pre-selections across different European countries but were not chosen to represent their country at Eurovision. Members of OGAE clubs—an international organization uniting dozens of fan clubs worldwide—vote each year for their favorite songs among those that did not win.
History and Significance of OGAE Second Chance
The “OGAE Second Chance” has been held annually since 1987. Last year, the song “Sinceramente“ (“Honestly”) by Annalisa won the contest, representing Italy after finishing third at the Sanremo Festival 2024, which selects Italy’s Eurovision entry. This was not a new achievement for Annalisa, who previously won the contest in 2018 with her song “Il mondo prima di te“ (“The World Before You”). With her latest victory, she secured Italy’s fourth win in the contest, placing the country second alongside Norway. The record for most wins belongs to Sweden, with an impressive 18 victories.
