Go-Jo:
Go-Jo, or by his real name Marty Zambotto, is an Australian singer, songwriter, and producer known for his original songs and guitar cover performances of other songs. His musical style is described as guitar-based pop and indie. At the beginning of his career, he focused on writing and producing songs for other singers until he began creating for himself as well.
He started his independent career in 2016 with his debut single “Nobody Like You” and has since continued to accumulate millions of views for his various performances. This includes a cover of the song “Iris” that gained significant success on Spotify and his latest released song “Cry About” which was warmly received by listeners.
“Milkshake Man”:
“Milkshake Man” presents a colorful and playful character who encourages people to enjoy themselves, let loose, and dance. It uses descriptions of various flavors and a lighthearted atmosphere to convey a message of joy and positive energy, with the central idea being encouraging people to embrace their individuality, unapologetically and wholeheartedly. However, there’s also an additional layer that may hint at sexual meanings. The choice of words, imagery, and repeated references to the drink he offers could suggest something beyond the seemingly innocent meaning. Thus, the song combines humor, lightness, and a mischievous wink with an alluring nature for listeners who understand the hidden intention.
The song was written by the artist himself alongside members of Australian pop band Sheppard, who competed in the Australia national final in 2019 – George Sheppard, Amy Sheppard and Jason Bovino. This is the first Eurovision song for these creators. The song is performed in English.
Lyrics of “Milkshake Man”:
Come and take a sip from my special cup
I heard that you could use a little pick me up
What can get you high when you’re oh so sad?
It’s the milk from the milkshake man
Ahhh
Well I’ve got chocolate, vanilla, and lactose free
Ahhh
And a caramel banana, that you have got to see
You can call me the milkshake man
I wanna shake and make the whole world dance
They drink my milk all across the land
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man
Sh-sh-shake me good
Sh-sh-shake me good
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man
Sh-sh-shake me good
Sh-sh-shake me good
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man
The shake is not a drink – it’s a state of mind
Like a secret super power you were born to find
Drink it every day and before you know it
You’ll be bigger… and stronger… with harder bones!
Ahhh
Well I’ve got mango, mojito, a fruit ballet
Ahhh
And did you see the naughty special on my creme brulee?
You can call me the milkshake man
I wanna shake up all the milk I can
They know my name all across the land
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man
Sh-sh-shake me good
Sh-sh-shake me good
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man
Sh-sh-shake me good
Sh-sh-shake me good
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man
Excusez-moi monsieur, avez-vous du lait pour moi?
When I say sweet sweet, you say yum yum
Sweet sweet – yum yum
When I say sweet sweet, you say yum yum
Sweet sweet – yum yum
Sh-sh-shake me good
Sh-sh-shake me good
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man
Sh-sh-shake me good
Sh-sh-shake me good
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man
Sh-sh-shake me good
Sh-sh-shake me good
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man
Sh-sh-shake me good
Sh-sh-shake me good
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man
