The Italian singer Annalisa won the OGAE Second Chance Contest 2024. This competition features songs from various Eurovision national finals over the past year and is held among Eurovision fan clubs across Europe.

In the OGAE Second Chance Contest 2024, the song “Sinceramente” by singer Annalisa, the runner-up in Italy’s Eurovision national selection, Sanremo Festival 2024, emerged victorious.

The Second Chance Contest features songs from Eurovision national finals across Europe that didn’t get to represent their country at Eurovision. Members of OGAE clubs (Eurovision fan clubs comprising dozens of associations worldwide) vote for their favorite songs each year. For instance, last year’s winners were Sweden’s representatives for Malmö 2024, Marcus & Martinus, with their song “Air“. This year’s contest was held in Borås, Sweden, following the country’s victory in 2023 (they won Eurovision 2023 but hosted due to their Second Chance win) and featured 16 countries out of the 37 participating nations in Eurovision 2024.

Italy’s Fourth Victory and Annalisa’s Historic Win

Italian singer Annalisa secured the win with 364 points, competing against 15 other entries. This marks Italy’s fourth victory in the OGAE Second Chance Contest and their third win in just the last decade. It’s also Annalisa’s second triumph in this competition, making her only the second person to win twice, with Sweden’s Alcazar being the other double winner. Annalisa’s first Second Chance victory was in 2018 with the song “Il mondo prima di te“. As per tradition, following Annalisa’s win in the 2024 OGAE Second Chance Contest, Italy is expected to host the competition in 2025.

Swedish singer Jacqline claimed the second place with her song “Effortless“, scoring 252 points. Norway’s Eurovision 2019 representatives, KEiiNO, secured the third position with 238 points for their entry “Damdiggida“.
