Germany’s Eurovision 2024 representative, ISAAK, speaks in an intimate interview about the hate Israel’s Eurovision 2024 representative received from the audience in the arena.

The Eurovision 2025 season has begun, and while Germany has started preparing for its participation in the competition, no information has yet been provided about the selection method through which the German representative and/or song for the contest will be chosen.

In an interview with Irish blogger allthingsadam.ie, ISAAK, Germany’s representative for Eurovision 2024, shared his feelings about the booing Eden Golan received and his Eurovision experience in an interview. At this stage, only the part where he refers to Eden Golan has been published.

“I think she was bullied,” ISAAK said, referring to the loud booing Golan received from the audience. “Do you know how young she is? This is her life’s goal, and she wanted to be part of Eurovision Song Contest.”

ISAAK emphasized that the personal experience of a musician who goes on stage and receives boos based on national affiliation rather than talent is an experience that can leave deep scars.

“Just imagine I am German, and I want to be part of the Eurovision Song Contest. I’m just a random musician; I just want to show them my music. I’m not a president. I just want to make that small kid’s dream come true. And then I get on this stage and no matter how good I am, no matter how amazing I can sing, the people just see my country and they boo. I think that would be the most terrible thing that could ever happen to me. I think that can definitely leave scars.”

ISAAK went on to explain that Eurovision is supposed to be a platform that unites people through music, but in Eden Golan’s case, he saw only hate and not unity. “The Eurovision says we are all united by music, and I didn’t see unity at this point. There is a young musician performing quite well and everyone turned against her. There was so much hate in this room and hate shouldn’t have a place in the Eurovision Song Contest.”

He noted that music should be a tool for unity, not hate, and called for a change in attitude towards young musicians in the competition.

Eurovision 2025: This will be Germany’s 68th participation in Eurovision. Germany joined the competition in 1956, was one of the seven founding countries, and has won twice over the years. Germany’s last victory was in Eurovision 2010 with the song “Satellite” performed by singer Lena Meyer-Landrut.
