
Estonian national broadcaster ERR has unveiled the identities of eight out of 15 contestants chosen by the committee to compete in the Estonian Eurovision national final ‘Eesti Laul 2025‘. Among the contenders are Anna Sahlene and ELYSA.
Estonian national broadcaster ERR announced today seven contestants who will compete in the final of the Estonian Eurovision national finals “Eesti Laul 2025” during the program “Ringvaade” (in English: “Panorama”). These join an additional contestant announced on the same show last Friday. The finalists are being revealed in two broadcasts, tonight and tomorrow, starting at 18:00 CET. The program was hosted by Grete Lõbu and Marko Reikop.
A panel of 34 judges selected 15 songs to participate in the pre-selection. In early January, one additional song chosen by the public through online voting will join these 15 songs. The national final songs will be revealed on December 6th. Notably, for the first time since 2010, there will be no semi-finals, and all 16 songs will compete in the grand final to be held on February 15th in Tallinn.
List of Revealed Contestants
On Friday, November 1st, the first duo to stand on the stage of the Estonian Eurovision national final “Eesti Laul 2025” was revealed: Räpina Jack and Kaisa Ling with the song “Tule” (in English: “Come”), which will be sung in Estonian. Ling was also a guest on the Friday show where she received the news. Today, before the broadcast, another name competing to represent Estonia in the upcoming Eurovision was revealed: the second contestant is Tuuli Rand with the song “Rem”.The full list of revealed contestants so far:

Familiar Names Among the Contestants
Among the contestants so far, there are three familiar names:
- Anna Sahlene: Represented Estonia in Eurovision 2002 with the song “Runaway“, finishing third on home ground in Tallinn. She also participated in the Estonian pre-selection in 2022 with the song “Champion“, finishing fourth in the final. Sahlene was a backing vocalist for Sweden in Eurovision 1999 and for the UK in Eurovision 2019. Additionally, she competed in the Swedish Eurovision pre-selection in 2003 (5th place in semi-final), 2006 (5th place in semi-final), and 2009 (7th place in semi-final, in a duet with singer Maria Haukaas Storeng).
- ELYSA: Competed in the Estonian Eurovision pre-selection in 2015 with the song “Superlove” under her full name Elisa Kolk, finishing third. In 2022, she returned under her current stage name with the song “Fire“, finishing second. The following year, she returned with the song “Bad Philosophy“, finishing 11th.
- An-Marlen: Competed in the Estonian Eurovision pre-selection in 2022 with the song “Lõpuls Muutub“, finishing seventh in the second quarter-final, a result insufficient to advance to the semi-final.
The winner in the final will be chosen in two rounds: In the first voting round, the televoters (50%) and the jury panel (50%) will choose three songs to advance to the second voting round, where the televoters will choose the winner and Estonia’s representative for Eurovision 2025.
Estonia in Eurovision 2024
5Miinust & Puuluup represented Estonia at Eurovision 2024 with the song “(Nendest) Narkootikumidest Ei Tea Me (Küll) Midagi”. The song was selected through the national finals Eesti Laul. It finished sixth in the second semi-final with 79 points, qualifying for the grand final against predictions. In the grand final, Estonia placed 20th with 37 points. This marks the third consecutive year Estonia has qualified for the grand final.

Eurovision 2025: This will be Estonia’s 30th participation in Eurovision. Estonia joined the contest in 1994 and achieved its best result in Eurovision 2001 when singers Tanel Padar, Dave Benton and 2XL, won first place with the song “Everybody”.
