
The Latvian national broadcaster has today released the list of artists who will participate in the semi-final of the Eurovision national selection “Supernova 2025”. Among the contestants are former Eurovision representatives of Latvia.
Latvia’s national broadcaster, LTV, has today revealed the identity of the contestants for the Latvian Eurovision national selection, “Supernova 2025”, and released previews of the songs. The Latvian selection will take place over two evenings: the semi-final will be held on Saturday, February 1st, and the final of the competition will take place a week later, on Saturday, February 8th.
The Latvian national selection for Eurovision 2025 features a diverse array of artists and musical styles. The full list of contestants and their songs is as follows:

Familiar Faces Return to the Competition
- Justs – Represented Latvia at Eurovision 2016 with the song “Heartbeat“, which reached 15th place in the Eurovision final. He also competed in “Supernova” in 2023 but was eliminated in the semi-final stage.
- Citi Zēni – Represented Latvia at Eurovision 2022 with the song “Eat your salad“, which ranked 14th out of 17 in the semi-final.
- Katrina Gupalo – Competed in the Latvian national selection in 2024 with the song “The Cat’s Song” and reached third place.
- Markus Riva – Has participated in the Latvian national selection no less than eight consecutive times: in 2014 (“Lights On“) he reached 11th place, in 2015 (“Take Me Down“) he came second, in 2016 (“I Can“) he was eliminated in the semi-final, in 2017 (“Dynamite“) he was eliminated in the second quarter-final, in 2018 (“This Time“) he reached fifth place, in 2019 (“You Make Me Crazy“) he came second, in 2020 (“Impossible“) he did not pass the audition stage, in 2022 (“If You’re Gonna Love Me“) he competed in the semi-final but did not advance to the final stage, and in 2023 (“Forever“) where he finished fourth.
- Toms Kalderauskis – Competed in the local Eurovision selection in 2017 with the song “We Won’t Back Down” which did not pass the quarter-final stage. In 2022, his song “Naked Smile” was put up for online voting, where out of 10 songs only one was chosen to advance to the semi-final stage. Toms’ song was not selected.
Latvia in Eurovision 2024
Dons represented Latvia at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Hollow.” The song was chosen in the national finals after winning the title “Song of the Year.” In the grand final, it finished 16th with 64 points, which included 36 points from the juries (placing it 15th) and 28 points from the public (placing it 16th).
Latvia’s qualification for the final comes after seven years of failing to advance from the semi-final stage. Since the introduction of the semi-final system, the country has qualified for the grand final only four other times: in 2005, 2008, 2015, and 2016.

Eurovision 2025: This will be Lavia’s 25th participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Latvia joined the competition in 2000 and achieved its best result in 2001 when singer Marie N reached first place with the song “I Wanna.”
