Tautumeitas is an ethno-pop band of female singers that combines melodies from Latvian folk music with modern sounds to create unique Latvian music. The band members are Asnate Rancāne, Aurēlija Rancāne, Elvis Lintiņš, Laura Līcīte, and Gabriēla Zvaigznīte. A central part of their concept is the visual aspect, in which they combine traditional Latvian ethnic clothing with futuristic elements.The band was formed in 2015, and their self-titled debut album, “Tautumeitas,” won the “Golden Microphone” award for Best Folk/World Album of 2018. In 2020, they won the award again with their album “Dziesmas no Aulejas.”
