Latvia’s Second Rehearsal: More Details
In the preview clip released from the second rehearsal, it is evident that the Latvian delegation has taken the original concept and elevated it to a level befitting the grand stage in Vienna. At the beginning of the video, the camera focuses on the artist as shards of glass rotate around her – creating a visual effect that is simultaneously dangerous and impressive.
As she reaches her hand forward, it appears as though she is controlling the rotating glass fragments, causing them to stop as the chorus concludes. Immediately after, as she demonstrates precise vocal ability while hitting the high notes, she continues to command the rotation of the glass shards, making them spin rapidly around her once more. Throughout the clip, the cinematography utilizes diverse and shifting camera angles. Additionally, from start to finish, a white square is visible on the left side of the screen, showing the shadow of a young girl with her hair tied up, wearing a short dress and mimicking the singer’s movements exactly.
In this rehearsal, Atvara is wearing a dress that has received a sparkling upgrade since her performance in the Latvian national selection. Countless gemstones have been added, now spreading across her entire arm and waist. Alongside the magnificent dress, the performance features a technical setup that surely makes the venue’s safety officers break a sweat. The combination of the shimmering gemstones and the scattered fragments on stage creates a cinematic experience that is difficult to look away from.
The singer will perform her song “Ēnā” (in English: “In the Shadows”) as song number 9 in the second semi-final. This is a position widely considered strategic, allowing the entry to stand out easily during the crucial evening. Will the diamond-encrusted dress and the sea of glass be enough to propel Latvia into the Eurovision 2026 grand final?
