The European Broadcasting Union and Swiss national broadcaster have released the official logo and stage design for Eurovision 2025 to be held in Basel! What do they symbolize?

The European Broadcasting Union and the Swiss national broadcaster, SRG SSR, have unveiled the branding for Eurovision 2025, centered around the theme “Unity Shapes Love”. The competition’s logo is composed of many small hearts, intended to represent unity. The logo is accompanied by the slogan “United By Music” – which has been used for all competitions since 2023. This exact slogan accompanied the contest in Liverpool, UK, and in Malmö, Sweden. Additionally, the stage design for the competition has been revealed, incorporating many Swiss elements.

Swiss Democracy Inspires Eurovision 2025 Design

The design is influenced by Swiss direct democracy, which revolves around listening and constant dialogue between elected officials and the people. Artur Deyneuve, the artistic director responsible for the design, explains: “In the design, we tell the story of Switzerland, a country where we listen to each other, and if we listen to each other, we find love.”

Swiss competition producers Moritz Stadler and Reto Peritz also commented: “Artur’s well-thought-out design is emotionally engaging and takes Eurovision to another level. The Eurovision heart beats in time with the rhythm, symbolizing the unifying power of music. True to the Eurovision slogan ‘United by Music’, it will bring people together all over the world.”

Stage Design Showcases Swiss Elements

The stage design for the competition has also been revealed. Stage designer Florian Weider, doing this for the eighth time, said the design emphasizes many Swiss elements. The stage features the Alpine mountains, which according to Weider are “what makes Switzerland so special”. Additionally, the stage has a four-sided frame, symbolizing Switzerland’s four official languages: German, French, Romansh, and Italian. A three-dimensional network of lights envelops the stage, with LED screens behind it. The audience this year is closer than ever to the stage, with maximum utilization of hall space to accommodate as many people as possible.

Weider added: “Our goal was to create a revolutionary stage concept – a holistic experience that we’ve never seen before at Eurovision. Thanks to the immersive stage layout, the audience will get to be part of Eurovision like never before.”

Eurovision 2025: This will be Switzerland’s 65th participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Switzerland joined the competition in 1956, being one of the seven founding countries, and has won three times over the years. Its most recent victory was at the last Eurovision in 2025, with Nemo’s song “The Code.” This win follows Switzerland’s previous victory in 1988 with the song “Ne partez pas sans moi,” performed by international singer Céline Dion.
