Tonight at 20:00 CET, the Danish national broadcaster, DR, will hold the final of “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025” – their national selection for Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. Eight songs will compete in the final, with the winner chosen by a combination of public voting and jury voting. The final consists of two rounds, with three contestants advancing to the second round after being selected by Danish viewers through SMS voting. The results will then be determined by jury voting (50%) and public voting (50%), with the contestant receiving the highest percentage of votes among the three finalists representing Denmark at Eurovision 2025.
The Danish national selection will take place at the Jyske Bank Boxen stadium in Herning. The show will be hosted again by TV presenter and author Sara Bro, and journalist and author Stephanie Surrugue.

Who to Watch For Tonight
In a poll conducted on the website, Euromix visitors chose singer Sissal to represent Denmark at Eurovision 2025 with the song “Hallucination”, receiving 50% of the votes. Maria Mathea came second with 15.63% of the votes for her song “Air”, and Andreas Kruse came third with 12.50% for his song “Hear My Prayer”.
The EuroMix editorial team agreed with the voters’ choice, selecting Sissal as the most worthy artist to represent Denmark at the upcoming Eurovision, with 72 points. Maria Mathea came second with 58 points, and Andreas Kruse third with 56 points.
Based on YouTube views, Sissal leads by a large margin with 50,000 views, while the second place, Andreas Kruse, has only 16,000 views for his song. Sissal also leads in the odds to win the national final, followed by Tim Schou in second place and Maria Mathea in third place.
Sissal – Who are you?
Sissal is a Danish singer-songwriter originally from the Faroe Islands, now living in Copenhagen. She gained attention for her captivating performances and is one of the eight finalists in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025. Her song, “Hallucination”, showcases her unique musical style and has received positive reactions from the audience.

Notable Participants in “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix”
Among the prominent contestants in the national selection is Tim Schou, who has previously represented Denmark and competed in Eurovision 2011. Schou is a member of the band A Friend In London, which represented Denmark at Eurovision 2011 with the song “New Tomorrow“, and finished fifth. He has also written several songs over the years for various Eurovision national selections, including the Danish, German, and Swedish selections. Recently, he also wrote one of the songs that competed in the Danish Eurovision national selection for 2024, “Sign Here“, performed by singer Stella, who did not make it past the first round. This time, Schou is competing without his band and will perform the song “Proud” in hopes of representing Denmark at Eurovision 2025 in Basel.
Denmark in Eurovision 2024
Saba, who won the Danish national selection, represented Denmark with her song “Sand”. Denmark failed to qualify for the Eurovision final, finishing 12th in the second semi-final with 36 points. This marks the fourth consecutive time that Denmark has not advanced to the Eurovision final, a new negative record for Denmark since the introduction of the semi-final system.
Eurovision 2025: This will be Denmark’s 53rd participation in Eurovision. Denmark joined the competition in 1957 and has won it three times over the years. Denmark’s last victory was in Eurovision 2013 with the song “Only Teardrops” performed by singer Emmelie de Forest.
