Australia at Eurovision 2025: The Australian national broadcaster has announced the country’s official jury spokesperson for Eurovision in Basel. Which famous former representative was chosen for this important role?

As in every year, one of the most suspenseful and memorable moments at Eurovision is the voting stage. This year, Silia Kapsis, who represented Cyprus at last year’s Eurovision in Malmö with the song “Liar,” will serve as Australia’s official spokesperson at Eurovision 2025, revealing the points of the country’s professional jury.

Silia Kapsis Returns to the Eurovision Stage in a New Role

Silia Kapsis is an 18-year-old singer of Cypriot-Greek descent, born and raised in Sydney, Australia. In 2022, the singer released her debut single “?Who Am I,” which she wrote and composed at the age of 12. She later released two more tracks: “No Boys Allowed” and “Disco Dancer.”

Silia was the lead vocalist in the youth performing arts group “AYPAC.” She then joined the dance crew ImmaBeast in Los Angeles, where she performed with international artists.

At a young age, she has already sung and danced alongside major industry names, including Taboo, a member of Black Eyed Peas. In addition to singing and dancing, Silia played the lead role in the film “Pearly Gates” and became one of the most recognized television hosts on Nickelodeon Australia.

Her career has so far been divided between work in Australia and Los Angeles. Her selection as Australia’s spokesperson highlights Silia’s commitment to the Eurovision Song Contest and her connection with European audiences. Her love for music has been present since childhood, and the belief that guides her in life is that nothing comes easily; to succeed, one must invest, persevere, and make sacrifices.

Australia at Eurovision 2025

The song “Milkshake Man” will be performed by Go-Jo, representing Australia as the first entry in the second semi-final on May 15th. The song was co-written by Go-Jo alongside members of the band Sheppard, who previously competed in the 2019 Australian Eurovision national selection. This marks their debut as Eurovision songwriters. The song will be performed in English.

The track introduces a playful and colorful character encouraging people to enjoy life, let loose, and dance. However, it also carries an additional layer of meaning that hints at sexual undertones. The choice of words, imagery, and recurring references to the drink being offered suggest a deeper, less innocent interpretation. Thus, the song blends humor, lightheartedness, and a cheeky allure designed to captivate listeners who grasp its hidden message.

Go-Jo did not qualify for the Eurovision final.
