Vienna, Austria’s capital, will host Eurovision 2026 for the third time. Beyond the main event in Wiener Stadthalle, parties and celebrations will unfold in several historic city locations.

With the announcement of Vienna as the host city for Eurovision 2026, more details have been revealed about the venues for concerts, official events, and Eurovision parties. To make it simple, here is a clear and structured overview of all the key information.

The Main Venue: Wiener Stadthalle

The central event will take place at the Wiener Stadthalle, Austria’s largest indoor arena, with a capacity of around 16,000 spectators. This iconic venue also hosted Eurovision in 2015 and will once again welcome thousands of visitors during May 12–16. The live shows include the semifinals on May 12 and 14, and the Grand Final on May 16. This will mark the first time since 2018 that a host nation’s capital city also hosts Eurovision.

The Eurovision Village and EuroClub: City Hall & Rathausplatz

Vienna’s Rathausplatz (City Hall Square) will transform into the Eurovision Village for 2026. Similar to the last time the contest was held in Vienna in 2015, it will serve as an open-air space featuring large-screen live broadcasts, cultural activities, and plenty of fan entertainment.

The nearby City Hall will host the EuroClub, where delegations, fans, and Eurovision enthusiasts can enjoy exclusive night parties with nonstop Eurovision music. The building will also host the official opening ceremony on May 10.

Press Center

Details regarding the location of the press center have not yet been disclosed. In the past, the Wiener Stadthalle has hosted journalists, although organizers may choose another site for 2026. More information will follow.

Costs and Funding

Vienna’s mayor, Michael Ludwig, stated that the city presented “a compelling overall package” including extensive accommodation capacity and excellent infrastructure. The city has allocated a maximum financial framework of approximately €22.6 million (around 89.2 million shekels). Vienna’s modern infrastructure is expected to significantly reduce expenses for the national broadcaster ORF.

Accommodation and Transportation

Vienna’s Tourism Director, Norbert Kettner, emphasized that the city offers more than 80,000 hotel rooms along with excellent air and rail connections. Visitors and fans can expect a wide selection of accommodation options for every budget.

Additional Details

The list of participating countries and further information about ticket sales for the nine shows will be released later this year. Ticket sales are expected to begin between late 2025 and early 2026, after the official confirmation of the participating countries.

Eurovision 2025: This was Austria’s 57th participation in Eurovision. Austria joined the competition in 1957 and has won three times over the years. Austria’s previous victory was in Eurovision 2014 with the song “Rise Like a Pheonix” performed by singer Conchita Wurst.
