Polish media rushed to declare the marriage of 18-year-old Junior Eurovision 2019 winner Viki Gabor and her partner. Now, the singer responds to the rumors.
Viki Gabor, winner of the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Superhero”, is currently at the center of a media storm during a time that was supposed to be one of the happiest in her life. What began as mysterious clips on social media showing a traditional Romani ceremony with her partner soon turned into a nationwide discussion about the 18-year-old star’s future – and speculation that she might leave Poland for a new life in the UK.
The Ceremony That Ignited Social Media
At the end of December 2025, videos emerged showing Gabor alongside her boyfriend, Giovanni Trojanek, celebrating in a lavish Romani-style ceremony. The footage, shared by none other than Giovanni’s grandfather, well-known Romani musician Bogdan Trojanek, quickly went viral.
However, a flood of online criticism soon followed, with many condemning the couple’s young age and the perceived speed of their commitment. The videos were later deleted. In an interview with Polish media, the grandfather explained that public comments had become overly harsh, forcing him to remove the videos to protect the couple’s privacy. Because the ceremony followed Romani cultural traditions rather than civil or religious law, it raised widespread discussion about its symbolic meaning and the cultural context of such events.
Gabor herself clarified the situation: “Yes, I got engaged, and I’m super happy – but it wasn’t an official wedding.” The singer emphasized that it was purely a cultural and symbolic celebration with no legal status under Polish law. Despite the joy surrounding the event, Giovanni’s grandfather admitted in an interview with Fakt: “Of course it’s too early to get married.” Yet he added: “Love is pure and comes from the heart.”

A Step Toward an International Career?
Another revealing detail from the interview concerns Gabor’s professional future. Giovanni currently lives and studies in London, and his grandfather disclosed that the plan is for Viki to join him and continue her studies in the UK.
The prospect of a move to London raises questions about Gabor’s future career in Poland. Could she be preparing for an international breakthrough? Gabor, one of the most successful Junior Eurovision winners, has previously expressed her ambition to reach a global audience. Living in London, Europe’s music hub, might provide the perfect opportunity for her next big step.
