
Five more songs have advanced to the final of “Supernova 2026”, which will take place on February 14th.
The second semi final of “Supernova 2026” took place tonight and 12 more artists compete for five spots in the final. The second semi-final was held at the Riga Film Studio in Latvia’s capital, Riga, and was hosted by Ketija Šēnberga, Lauris Reiniks, and Māra Sleja. At the end of the evening, five songs qualified for the final, joining the five selected in the first semi-final. Another spot is reserved for the decision of the Latvian national broadcaster.

Among the finalists there are a few familiar names:
- Edvards Strazdiņš – Competed in 2024 with the song “Rock n’ Roll Supernova“, finishing sixth.
- Legzdina – Competed in 2025 alongside Bel Tempo with the song “The Water“, finishing sixth.
- Miks Galvanovskis – Competed in 2017 with the song “Runaway“, finishing eighth in the second quarter-final, returned in 2022 with the song “I’m Just a Sinner“, finishing fourth.
- Robert Ox – The stage name of Roberts Memmēns, until 2024 part of the band Citi Zēni, who representes latvia at Eurovision 2022.
- Emilija – Competed in 2025 with the song “Heartbeat“, finishing second.
Supernova 2026 Dates:
First Semi-Final – Saturday, January 31st, 2026.Second Semi-Final – Saturday, February 7th, 2026.- Grand Final – Saturday, February 14th, 2026.
An additional spot remains at the discretion of LTV, which has the option to grant a second chance to a song that did not initially qualify for the final.
Latvia at Eurovision 2025
“Bur Man Laimi” (in English: “Song for Happiness”) is the name of the song performed by Tautumeitas, representing Latvia at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. The song is performed in Latvian – the first song in Latvian sent since 2004!
It placed second in the second semi-final with 130 points, reached the grand final, and finished thirteenth with 158 points – Latvia’s second consecutive qualification and highest achievement since Eurovision 2015.
Eurovision 2026: This will be Latvia’s 26th participation. Latvia debuted the contest in 2000 and achieved its best result in 2002, when Marie N won with the song “I Wanna”.
