The Cypriot national broadcaster CyBC has unveiled “JALLA” — Antigoni’s song with which she will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna, Austria.
A few minutes ago, the Cypriot national broadcaster, CyBC, revealed during the evening broadcast on channel RIK1 the song “JALLA,” which will be performed by Antigoni to represent Cyprus at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna. Cyprus will compete in the second half of the second semi-final, scheduled for May 14. The song is available on all platforms.
As already known, Antigoni will perform the song live as a guest act during the second semi-final of “Sing For Greece 2026”, scheduled for February 13. During this event, Greece’s own Eurovision representative will be chosen. We are already eager to see what Antigoni will bring to the stage in the coming days — and whether her live performance will offer a hint of what awaits us in Vienna this May!
Antigoni Explains the Meaning Behind “JALLA”
Following the announcement, Antigoni published a post on her official Instagram account explaining that the word “JALLA” translates to “more.” The artist, who continues to blend Greek-Cypriot and Mediterranean influences in her music, reiterated that her Eurovision participation aims to highlight Cypriot culture and identity. Antigoni’s desires are expressed in the music video for her Eurovision song, which was filmed in various cities and villages across Cyprus, and features traditional dances and local residents appearing in it.
In an interview conducted about a month ago, Antigoni reflected on what Eurovision represents for her:
“For me, Eurovision is an opportunity for different countries and cultures to showcase what makes them unique. It’s very important to me to present something that reflects our Cypriot spirit and culture – but also something that works on an international level.”
She also elaborated on her creative vision for her upcoming performance:
“I want this so badly. I want there to be so much energy. I want this to be a performance – not just a song. We have three minutes to deliver something powerful and emotional. I want to show our Cyprus.”
Will “JALLA” Continue Cyprus’s Eurovision Tradition?
Antigoni’s emphasis on energy and stage presence has sparked curiosity about whether Cyprus’s entry this year will follow the dynamic style audiences often associate with the island’s Eurovision performances.
It is worth recalling that in October, just a week before her official appointment as Cyprus’s Eurovision representative, Antigoni opened for Eleni Foureira at a concert in London. This collaboration has fueled speculation – could “JALLA” feature a similar level of high-octane choreography and confidence reminiscent of Foureira’s 2018 performance? And will Antigoni be able to replicate her predecessor’s success on the Eurovision stage?
Antigoni – Who Are You?
Antigoni, originally from Cyprus, recently joined the international tour of Marina Satti, Greece’s Eurovision 2024 representative. In various interviews and social media posts, she has often voiced her wish to represent her home country at Eurovision.
She began writing songs as a teenager and studied at London’s BRIT School, which has produced artists such as Adele and Amy Winehouse. In her early twenties, she signed with Island Records and began developing her unique sound—a mix of pop and R&B infused with Mediterranean influences and Greek instruments.
Her music often features bilingual lyrics in Greek and English, reflecting her dual British and Cypriot identity.
Antigoni became widely recognized after participating in the eighth season of the British reality show Love Island in 2022, which boosted her visibility across both the UK and Cyprus. Despite her television fame, she continues to focus primarily on her musical career.
