New details have just been revealed about the song with which Bzikebi will represent Georgia at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna, Austria, including the identity of the song’s well-known composer.

After being announced last month by the Georgian national broadcaster GBP as Georgia’s representatives for Eurovision 2026, the members of Bzikebi revealed in a recent interview with the local radio station “Fortuna” that Giga Kukhianidze is the composer behind the song they will perform on the big stage during the first semi-final in Vienna, Austria.

Giga Kukhianidze – Who Are You?

Giga Kukhianidze is a songwriter and producer who became one of the leading figures in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. He has written 11 songs that represented Georgia in Junior Eurovision, including two entries that brought the country major victories. One of those wins was none other than Andria Putkaradze’s victory at Junior Eurovision 2024 with the song “To My Mom”.

In addition, Kukhianidze served as a member of Georgia’s jury at Eurovision 2014 and was involved in writing the song “Echo”, performed by Iru Khechanovi, who represented Georgia at Eurovision 2023 but failed to qualify for the Grand Final.

Upbeat or Ballad?

The band members clarified in the interview that they are also taking part in creating the song in collaboration with Giga Kukhianidze. They also revealed that the track is relatively upbeat, energetic, and fun — “the kind of song people love” — and fits their musical style. However, they added that at this stage, they still do not know what the final product will look and sound like.

Bzikebi’s Selection Process

Bzikebi were selected to represent Georgia via an internal selection, following their reunion at the most recent Junior Eurovision Song Contest, where they performed their new song “We Don’t Sleep” during the interval act. Many Eurovision fans speculated at the time whether this appearance hinted at a future Eurovision selection a suspicion that has now proven correct.

The band’s Eurovision 2026 entry is expected to be revealed in the coming months. Traditionally, Georgia is among the last countries to unveil its Eurovision songs, making an early March release the most likely scenario once again this year.

Bzikebi – Who Are You?

Bzikebi previously represented Georgia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with their song “Bzzz“, winning first place. Since then, Georgia has become the most successful country in the competition’s history, securing three additional victories. After a period of inactivity, the group reunited at Junior Eurovision 2025, where they performed a new song as part of the interval act.

Band Members and Eurovision Legacy

The group consists of Giorgi Shiolashvili, Mariam Tatulashvili, and Mariam Kikuashvili. Bzikebi left a lasting mark on Junior Eurovision history by performing a song entirely in gibberish a bold creative choice that fundamentally changed perceptions of what was possible within the contest.

Georgia in Eurovision 2025

Mariam Shengelia represented Georgia at Eurovision 2025  with the song “Freedom”. The song was selected through an internal selection. The entry finished fifteenth in the second semi-final with 28 points.

Eurovision 2026: This will be Georgia’s 18th participation in Eurovision. Georgia joined the competition in 2007 and achieved its best result in Eurovision 2010 and Eurovision 2011 after finishing ninth twice.
