Eurovision 2024 star Martinus Gunnarsen has taken victory on Sweden’s Let’s Dance alongside dance partner Paulina Rosenkvist.
In recent years, an increasing number of Eurovision artists have chosen to compete for local audiences on “Dancing with the Stars” and other regional reality television formats. The stage experience and dedicated fanbases accumulated through Eurovision frequently propel these artists to success in domestic competitions. Last night, another former Eurovision participant claimed victory.
The Winner: Martinus, This Time Without Marcus
It was none other than Martinus Gunnarsen, half of the Norwegian pop duo Marcus & Martinus, who represented Sweden at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Unforgettable“. While Martinus has been famous for years alongside his twin brother, this project saw him compete independently alongside professional dancer Paulina Rosenkvist. The duo participated in “Let’s Dance”, capturing the public’s vote to take first place. Watch the winning performance from Martinus and Paulina below:
The winning dancer, Paulina Rosenkvist, also won the previous season of the show with another familiar face to Eurovision fans – Theo, who competed in Melodifestivalen under the stage name Theoz in 2022 with the song “Som du vill” (in English: “As You Want”) and in 2023 with “Mer av dig” (in English: “More of You”).
Marcus and Martinus were born and raised in Norway, but in recent years have achieved immense popularity in neighboring Sweden. The duo competed in Melodifestivalen 2023, finishing as runners-up with the song “Air“. One year later, they earned the right to represent Sweden on home soil with “Unforgettable“, placing ninth in the Eurovision grand final. The brothers also won another Swedish reality competition, “The Masked Singer Sweden”, in 2022, where only one twin performed each week before Martinus unmasked in the final reveal as Marcus joined him on stage.
Marcus & Martinus: Who Are They?

The 24-year-old twin brothers Marcus and Martinus were born and raised in Norway. They rose to national fame in 2012 after winning Melodi Grand Prix Junior, Norway’s junior Eurovision national selection. Following their victory, their winning track became a major hit across Norway. In 2015, they released their debut studio album, Hei, which topped the Norwegian charts. A year later, they released their second album, Together, featuring English-language tracks, which enjoyed wide success across Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
In 2017, at just 15 years old, they set their sights on Eurovision and served as Norway’s official jury spokespersons. That same year, they released their third album, Moments. In spring 2022, they won The Masked Singer Sweden. They made their debut in Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national selection, in 2023 with “Air“, placing second in the grand final behind eventual Eurovision winner Loreen. One year later, they won Melodifestivalen and represented Sweden at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö with “Unforgettable“, taking ninth place in the grand final.
Eurovision 2027: This will be Sweden’s 65th participation in Eurovision. Sweden joined the competition in 1958, and has won it seven times over the years. Sweden’s last victory was in Eurovision 2023 with the song “Tattoo” performed by the singer Loreen.
