Albania’s Eurovision Journey and Future Prospects

Albania’s Eurovision journey began in 2004 with Anjeza Shahini‘s “The Image of You,” which secured 7th place. The country’s best result came in 2012 when Rona Nishliu finished 5th with “Suus.” In recent years, Albania has faced challenges in qualifying for the finals, but hopes are high for Eurovision 2025.

New Artistic Director: A Familiar Face from Albania’s Eurovision Past

RTSH announced in June that Elhaida Dani, Albania’s 2015 Eurovision representative, will return to the festival as its artistic director. This collaboration is set to continue in the coming years, bringing valuable experience to the competition.

Alfred Peza, the festival director from RTSH, stated: “Elhaida’s arrival is great news for me, for the team, and for public opinion, as this decision will add value to the festival, which gave her a distinguished career starting with victories in many music competitions she participated in.”

Looking Ahead to Eurovision 2025

As Albania prepares for another exciting national selection, fans are eager to see what fresh talent and innovative sounds will emerge from Festivali i Këngës 63. Will 2025 be the year Albania clinches its first Eurovision victory?

Albania in Eurovision 2024

“Titan” is the title of the song performed by singer Besa Kokëdhima, representing Albania in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2024 held in Malmö, Sweden. Albania failed to qualify for the final, finishing 15th in the second semi-final with 14 points received from Greece, Italy, Switzerland, and San Marino.

The last time Albania sent an English-language song and successfully qualified for the grand final was in 2015, with Elhaida Dani’s performance of “I’m Alive.” Since then, every time Albania has submitted an English-language entry, they have failed to advance to the final.

Eurovision 2025: This will be Albania’s 21st participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Albania joined the competition in 2004 and achieved its best result in Eurovision 2012 when singer Rona Nishliu reached fifth place with the song “Suus.”
