Rumours of Måneskin’s potential breakup are circulating on social media as band members pursue solo projects. Explore the Eurovision winners’ current status, individual ventures, and their journey from Italian rock sensation to global superstars.

In 2021, Italian rock band Måneskin took the Eurovision Song Contest by storm, securing Italy’s third victory in the competition with their electrifying performance of “Zitti e Buoni”. Their win catapulted them to international fame, with chart-topping singles and sold-out world tours following in quick succession. Recently, however, social media activity has fueled speculation about the band’s future.

Damiano David: Teasing a New Solo Project

Frontman Damiano David has announced a solo album titled “Everywhere,” set for release on September 27, 2024. Notably, he has removed “Måneskin” from his Instagram bio, leading fans to question the band’s status.

Victoria de Angelis Explores New Horizons

Bassist Victoria de Angelis has also been pursuing projects outside the band. In 2023, she collaborated with Duran Duran and embarked on a DJ tour across Europe and the United States. Her recent single with Brazilian singer Anitta further demonstrates her individual artistic pursuits.

The Band’s Current Status

Despite pursuing solo projects, Måneskin continues to perform together, recently appearing in Paris and Japan just three weeks ago. However, their last song released on their YouTube channel was nine months ago. While Damiano David and Victoria de Angelis have announced plans to explore additional musical avenues, there is currently no information about separate solo careers for drummer Ethan Torchio and guitarist Thomas Raggi.

Måneskin’s Post-Eurovision Success

Since their Eurovision triumph, Måneskin has achieved remarkable success:

  • Their winning song “Zitti e Buoni” and follow-up single “I Wanna Be Your Slave” topped charts worldwide.
  • The band has won multiple MTV awards and received a Grammy nomination for “Best New Artist” in 2023.
  • They’ve broken records for Italian artists in various international markets, drawing comparisons to Céline Dion’s post-Eurovision career.

While breakup rumors persist, Måneskin has not officially confirmed any plans to disband. It’s possible that band members are simply exploring individual projects during a temporary hiatus. For now, fans can only hope that this talented group will continue to create music together, building on their impressive legacy in the rock music scene.

Italy has participated in Eurovision approximately 48 times since joining the competition in 1956 and is counted among the seven founding countries of the contest. Italy has won the competition 3 times, in 1964, 1990, and 2021.
