Joe Hendry, the British wrestler who has taken the music world by storm, announces that he has set his sights on Eurovision 2025 in Switzerland, where he will attempt to represent the United Kingdom.

After the British national broadcaster revealed that it would once again choose the country’s Eurovision representative through an internal selection, we received an interesting and unusual name interested in representing the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. Joe Hendry, the British TNA wrestler, announced that he would submit his song “I Believe in Joe Hendry” to the committee selecting the UK’s representative, following the song’s surprising success in local music charts.

Next Stop – Basel?

The song, originally released in 2019 and given a new music video in 2023, is the wrestler’s official theme song in Impact Wrestling. After gaining momentum, it reached a peak position of fourth on the British music charts. However, the original song is only about a minute long and was released several years ago, so Hendry announced that he would prepare a renewed version – a “Eurovision remix” – to submit to the competition.

It’s important to note that for this song to comply with Eurovision rules, Hendry will need to make significant changes to the song, if not change it entirely. The rules prohibit songs that were published long before the competition, such short songs, and certainly songs that have already gained exposure and featured in music charts. Therefore, the eligibility of the song in its current state is in doubt.

On his X (formerly Twitter) account, Hendry states: “It’s official. About 4 months from now, we will submit ‘I believe in Joe Hendry’ (Eurovision Remix)’ in good time for the March deadline. No matter the outcome, this will be fun.”
