The Spanish national broadcaster has unveiled the lineup of artists participating in Benidorm Fest 2025 – Spain’s Eurovision national selection. Here are all the details about the contestants!
Spanish national broadcaster RTVE continues preparations for the local Eurovision selection, Benidorm Fest 2025, which has been used to choose Spain’s Eurovision representative since 2022. Approximately 1,000 songs were submitted for the national selection, a significant increase compared to last year’s 825 submissions and 876 in 2023.
A team of representatives from the Spanish national broadcaster listened to all the songs and selected the 16 best entries to appear on the festival stage. Today, RTVE held a press conference where the names of the national selection contestants were revealed. The date for the song reveals will be announced later.
The Contestants and Their Entries for Benidorm Fest 2025
The 16 contestants for “Benidorm Fest 2025” are:
- Carla Frigo – competing with “Bésame“. She describes the song as: “sensual, elegant, and very catchy.”
- Celine Van Heel – a singer of Spanish-Dutch origin, competing with “La casa“, which she describes as “a song about immigration and empowerment.”
- Chica Sobresalto – a contestant from “Operación triunfo”, competing with “Mala feminista“, which she describes as “a song about guilt and how sometimes we feel that in this profession women are positioned as an obstacle.”
- Daniela Blasco – competing with “Uh nana“. While not providing a description of the song, the singer says, “I hope to give my all and offer a spectacular performance. I want to enjoy it immensely and for people to enjoy it with me.”
- David Afonso – competing with “Amor barato“. The singer says, “Competing in Benidorm Fest means fulfilling one of my dreams, I want to experience it fully.”
- DeTeresa – competing with “La Pena“, which she describes as “something that many people experience. All of us who love boys.”
- Henry Semler – competing with “No lo ves“. The singer says, “I want to enjoy it fully, take advantage of every moment and be true to myself and my song.”
- J Kbello – a contestant from “Cover Night”, competing with “VIP“.
- K!ngdom – competing with “Me gustas tú“. The singers say, “We’re going to offer a party, light, and color.”
- Kuve – competing with “Loca por ti“. The singer says, “It talks about true love, the essential kind. For me, Benidorm Fest is an amazing opportunity because I’ve been working like an ant for many years.”
- Lachispa – who sang background vocals for the well-known singer Rosalía, is competing with “Hartita de llorar“.
- Lucas Bun – a former professional horse rider. Competing with “Te escribo en el cielo“. The singer says he’s confident about the song he sent and that “I’m going to make you shed a few tears.”
- Mawot – participated in the Spanish selection process in 2001, and now competing with “Raggio di sole“. The singer says, “It’s a song that identifies me and I’m going to talk about my story.”
- Mel Omana – competing with “I’m a Queen“. She says: “I’m presenting a song that was well-planned for Benidorm Fest.”
- Melody – tried to represent Spain at Eurovision in 2009 with “Amante de la luna”. Now competing with “Esa diva“. The singer says, “I thought about it a lot; I couldn’t find the perfect moment; I understood that it never exists and you just have to do it,” and describes the song as “having a very deep and emotional message. Many people will feel identified because we are all divas!”
- Sonia & Selena – the duo that tried to represent Spain at Eurovision in 2001 with “Yo quiero bailar“, reunites and will compete with “Reinas”. The singers say: “We can say in advance that we cried when they presented us with the song.”
Competition Format and Voting System
Eight songs will participate in each broadcast. The voting system remains identical to previous years: in both semi-finals and the final, the results will be determined by a panel of judges accounting for 50% of the total vote, 25% from a representative sample, and 25% from the general public.
Spain was among the first countries to confirm their participation in Eurovision 2025, to be held in Basel, Switzerland. A few days after the Eurovision 2024 final, the Spanish national broadcaster opened the song submission window for the national selection, and local artists could submit their songs to the selection committee until October 10th.

Spain in Eurovision 2024
“Zorra” is the name of the song performed by the duo Nebulossa, representing Spain at Eurovision 2024 held in Malmö. The duo won the Spanish Eurovision selection “Benidorm Fest 2024”. Spain reached 22nd place in the grand final with 30 points. This is the seventh time in the last decade that Spain has received one of the last five places in the Eurovision final.
