The producers of Serbia’s “Pesma Za Evroviziju 2025”, the national Eurovision selection, have revealed the number of songs submitted for the competition, from which 28 will participate in the national final.

The producers of the Serbian Eurovision national selection “Pesma Za Evroviziju 2025”, Olivera Kovačević, and the music editor Uroš Marković, disclosed that many well-known Serbian artists have submitted songs for the competition. They anticipate a challenging task in selecting 28 contestants for the national final, following the closure of the song submission window on November 10th.

Record-Breaking Submissions and Popularity

The duo appeared on a local television program, where they discussed the preparations for the national selection: “The national selection is becoming more and more popular every year. Last year’s final was watched by 1,750,000 people on television and another 450,000 on YouTube. In total, that’s more than two million people,” says Marković. According to him, the national selection offers contestants a great chance for exposure due to its extensive media coverage and high ratings.

Launch Pad for Musical Careers

“The careers of many famous artists began with ‘PZE’, and the fact that the competition is being watched more and more shows that we have found the path we need to follow and that every year we are taking a step forward both visually and in terms of content,” said Olivera Kovačević.

Quality Entries and Genre Diversity

In the interview, they reveal that they received many quality songs from numerous well-known performers for the competition. However, they cannot disclose names as the selection committee will choose the contestants in early December and likely publish the list before January.

“It’s best when the national selection offers a wide variety of genres, from ethnic to rock and pop to metal. The same goes for Eurovision; every year they try to find a recipe. One year ‘Maneskin‘ wins, and the next year everyone sends a song in a similar style. This year Nemo won, so probably the next artists will try something in that style,” the festival editors add.

Commitment to Excellence

The editors emphasize their dedication to maintaining a high-quality competition that showcases the best of Serbian music talent while aligning with Eurovision trends. Their focus on diversity and innovation continues to attract both established and emerging artists, making “Pesma Za Evroviziju” a crucial platform for the country’s music industry.
