Tonight, the finale of “HaKochav HaBa” will take place, at the end of which the Israeli representative for Eurovision 2025 will be chosen. The broadcast will begin at 20:30 CET, hosted by Assi Azar and Rotem Sela.

Tonight, Israel’s representative for Eurovision 2025, to be held in Basel on May 13, 15, and 17, will be chosen during the finale of HaKokhav HaBa for Eurovision 2025, which will be broadcast on Keshet 12 at 20:30 CET. Four contestants have reached the competition’s finale: Yuval RaphaeliValerie HamatyDaniel Weiss, and Moran Aharoni and Red Band, and one of them will represent Israel at Eurovision!

The four finalists who advanced to the grand finale will perform a well-known song, from which three contestants will progress to the last stage. In the final stage, these three contestants will perform an additional song, aiming to impress and convince the judges and audience of their ability to represent Israel at Eurovision. Following the performances, the judges and audience will vote again to select Israel’s representative for Eurovision 2025.




Favorites to Win

In the poll conducted on the website, you, the users, determined that the favorite candidates to represent Israel in the Eurovision 2025 are Moran Aharoni and Red Band. The duo won the poll with 46.81% of the user votes. In second place with 29.67% of the user votes was the singer Yuval Raphael, and in third place with 20.44% of the user votes, you chose the singer Valerie Hamaty. The last place was taken by the singer Daniel Wais, with only 3.08% of the user votes.

The Euromix editorial team ranked Yuval Raphaeli first with 128 points in their voting, closely followed by Valerie Hamaty with 118 points. Moran Aharoni and Red Band, who won the audience poll, came third in the Euromix team vote with 110 points, while Daniel Weiss finished fourth with 88 points.

However, the race is likely to be close between three contestants: Yuval RaphaeliMoran Aharoni and Red Band, and Valerie Hamaty, who will all compete for first place in the program and the opportunity to represent Israel at Eurovision 2025 in Basel.

Finalists’ Song Choices

Last night, each contestant from the four finalists presented the song they will perform in the first stage of the program’s finale:

  • Yuval Raphael will perform “Dancing Queen” (by ABBA) in the grand finale.
  • Daniel Wais will perform “Let It Be” by The Beatles in the finale.
  • Valerie Hamaty will perform “When You’re Sad” originally by Amir Benayoun in the finale.
  • Moran Aharoni and Red Band will perform “Hey Shketah” originally by Riki Gal, in an English-translated version, in the finale.

Three contestants will advance to the second stage and will perform an additional song – the finale song:

  • Yuval Raphael will perform “Writing’s On the Wall” (originally by Sam Smith)
  • Daniel Wais will perform “Sadot Shel Irisim” (Fields of Irises, originally by Shlomo Artzi)
  • Valerie Hamaty will perform “Kshe’at Atzuva” (When You’re Sad, originally by Amir Benayoun)
  • Moran Aharoni and Red Band will perform “Heyi Shketa” (Be Quiet, originally by Riki Gal) in an English version




Israel in Eurovision 2024

“Hurricane” is the name of the song performed by singer Eden Golan, who was chosen to represent Israel after winning the tenth season of “HaKokhav Haba“. Israel advanced to the final after winning the second semi-final with 194 points, and in the grand final reached fifth place with 375 points. In the public vote, Israel came in second place, just 14 points behind the first place.

This is the second consecutive time that Israel has reached the top five, an achievement it had not attained since its streak of successes in 1998-1999.

Eurovision 2024: This was Israel’s 46th participation in Eurovision. Israel joined the competition in 1973 and has won it four times over the years. Israel’s last victory was at Eurovision 2018 with the song “Toy” performed by singer Netta Barzilai.
