Australia at Eurovision 2025: TV presenter Tony Armstrong and Australian drag legend Courtney Act have been chosen to host Eurovision 2025 broadcasts for the Australian national broadcaster SBS.
The Australian national broadcaster SBS has announced that Tony Armstrong and Courtney Act will be the new duo leading Eurovision broadcasts for 2025, set to take place in Basel, Switzerland. The live coverage will air to Australia from May 14th to May 18th, with special prime-time shows scheduled between May 16th and May 18th.
Since 2017, TV and radio presenters Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasey served as Eurovision commentators for SBS Australia. Over eight years, they delivered humorous and insightful commentary, becoming an integral part of the Eurovision viewing experience in the country.
In December 2024, the duo announced their retirement from commentary roles, stating it was time to pass the glittering microphones to new hosts. In a joint statement, they said:
“We’ve had the great privilege of hosting Eurovision for SBS, but it’s time to hang up our glittering microphones.”
Their departure paved the way for Tony Armstrong and Courtney Act to take over as hosts starting in 2025. Myf and Joel’s contribution to Eurovision broadcasts in Australia was significant, and they will be remembered as an essential part of the competition’s history in the country.

A Decade of Australian Participation
This year marks Australia’s tenth anniversary since its debut at Eurovision in 2015 during the competition’s 60th celebrations. Since then, Australia has become an integral part of the event, achieving its best result in 2016 when Dami Im secured second place with her song “Sound of Silence”.

The song “Milkshake Man” will be performed by Go-Jo, representing Australia as the first entry in the second semi-final on May 15th. The song was co-written by Go-Jo alongside members of the band Sheppard, who previously competed in the 2019 Australian Eurovision national selection. This marks their debut as Eurovision songwriters. The song will be performed in English.
The track introduces a playful and colorful character encouraging people to enjoy life, let loose, and dance. However, it also carries an additional layer of meaning that hints at sexual undertones. The choice of words, imagery, and recurring references to the drink being offered suggest a deeper, less innocent interpretation. Thus, the song blends humor, lightheartedness, and a cheeky allure designed to captivate listeners who grasp its hidden message.
