Two countries, one choreographer – and a promise of two of the biggest stage shows at Eurovision 2025. Who is the international artist aiming to prove himself to all of Europe?

The performances of the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 are set to share a distinct creative fingerprint – and the person behind it is none other than the Japanese-Brazilian choreographer Jorge Antonio Fujizaki.

An International Choreographer With a Rich Artistic Background

Jorge Antonio Fujizaki was officially announced as the choreographer for both the British and Azerbaijani acts in the upcoming Eurovision, signaling mutual trust in his stage creativity by two entirely different delegations. His professional roots trace back to his early years as a freelance dancer in London, where he collaborated with major artists such as Kylie Minogue, and even appeared in the musical film “Wicked.”

Later, he developed his career as a choreographer and movement director in both theater and television productions. His connection to the Eurovision world is no coincidence – Fujizaki already took on various roles in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, serving as a costume designer and assistant choreographer for the British delegation in 2022 and 2023.

Strategic Creativity for Two Major Performances

Now, with Fujizaki joining the creative team for both shows, it appears that both Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom are betting on strong, well-timed performances enriched with advanced visual elements. Fujizaki’s anticipated contribution to the staging includes structured choreography with elements of physical theatre, reminiscent of his work on British television and international stages.

Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2025

“Run With U” is the title of the song that will be performed by the band Mamagama, representing Azerbaijan in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2025, which will take place on May 13 in Basel, Switzerland. Mamagama – Who Are You?

Mamagama is an Azerbaijani band consisting of Allahverdi GumbatliBahruz Afandiyev, and Safael Mishiyev. The band was formed after Allahverdi and Bahruz’s previous band disbanded following seven years of activity, leaving them feeling disappointed and depressed. After an extensive search for a lead vocalist to complete the lineup, they met Safael and chose him as the band’s frontman. The band released the song “As It Was” in 2022, collaborating with Eurovision 2011 winner, Eldar Gasimov. In 2023, their song “River” reached the final selection stage of the committee choosing the song for Eurovision 2023.

The band name is composed of two words: Mama – the ultimate creator, the source of life, the force that nurtures the world. Gama – the full spectrum of sound, the highest frequencies, the musical scales that stretch across time and space.

The band is one of the most energetic and original bands on Azerbaijan’s music scene. The band has wowed audiences at music festivals and contests, including a winning performance at Albania’s Eurovision national selection in 2022 with the song “Dreamer.”
