Denmark in Eurovision 2025: Singer Sissal took the stage for her second rehearsal with the song “Hallucination”. Stay updated with all the reports from Basel, Switzerland

Danish singer Sissal is the second contestant to rehearse today on the Eurovision 2025 stage in Basel, Switzerland, with the song “Hallucination”. Sissal will perform as song number 11 in the second semi-final, which will take place on May 15th in Basel. This year’s competition features 37 countries.

In the video from Denmark’s second rehearsal, we see Sissal wearing a blue bodysuit adorned with gemstones, and the fabric of her cape flows in the wind as the camera angle pulls back, creating a dramatic effect as she hits the high notes in her singing. The dancers around her are anchored to the floor but move with impressive fluidity, and their flowing garments, together with the animation on the LED screens, convey a strong sense of motion in the performance.

Stage Design and Visual Effects

The centerpiece of the stage is a transparent curtain, suspended from ceiling to floor in four segments. This curtain moves freely in the wind, creating a dynamic visual effect around Sissal, who stands on a black platform surrounded by neon lights and strobe effects. For the opening verse and chorus, she wears a striking blue and white coat made from layers of organza, reminiscent of a high-fashion event.

Costume Change and Choreography

During the second verse, Sissal removes her coat to reveal a sparkling electric blue leotard with long sleeves and thigh-high boots. Four dancers interact with the curtain, pressing their faces against it before circling Sissal with blue fabric scarves. In the final segment, the dancers are completely wrapped in blue fabric as Sissal steps down from her platform and moves to the front of the stage for the last chorus. The dancers, anchored to the floor, sway as if caught in the wind, while Sissal builds up to a powerful finale. No pyrotechnics are used, but her final note leaves a strong impression.

Denmark at Eurovision 2025

“Hallucination” is the name of the song that will be performed by singer Sissal, who will represent Denmark as song number 11 in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2025 to be held on May 15th in Basel, Switzerland. The song was written by the singer herself, along with Chris Chordz, Line Spangsberg, Malthe Johansen, Linnea Deb, who wrote among others the winning song at Eurovision 2015, “Heroes“, Marcus Winther-John, who wrote the songs for Andorra at Eurovision 2009 and Cyprus at Eurovision 2023, and Melanie Wehbe, who wrote the songs for Denmark and the UK at Eurovision 2019, Sweden at Eurovision 2020 and Denmark at Eurovision 2024. Apart from Deb, Winther-John and Wehbe, this is the first song by the writers to compete in Eurovision. The song is performed in English.

The song describes a connection so strong with another person that it feels almost unreal – like a hallucination.
