Last night (Saturday), the Eurovision 2025 Grand Final concluded in Basel, Switzerland, in a breathtaking showdown that ended with Austria crowned as the contest’s big winner, while Israel and its representative, Yuval Raphael, secured second place. Austrian singer JJ delivered his country’s third-ever victory with the song “Wasted Love”, amassing a total of 436 points.

Dramatic Voting Moments

The grand final, held at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, featured performances from 26 countries and culminated in rare suspense, as the Austrian singer and the Israeli singer stood head-to-head on screen. In the end, after the winner was announced, 79 points separated first and second place, and just one point separated second and third. Austria overtook Israel and Estonia in the final moments of voting, after the juries awarded Austria 258 points and the public added another 178.

Israel, which received overwhelming support from the European public, finished second with 357 points – 297 of them from the public, the highest number this year, and only 60 from the juries, who were again heavily influenced by the ongoing war. Estonia finished third with just 356 points, one point behind Israel.

The Winner: JJ and the Hit “Wasted Love”

JJ, selected to represent Austria through an internal selection process, surprised many by finishing only fifth in the second semi-final. However, in the final, he delivered a powerful performance of the pop opera “Wasted Love”, leading Austria to another victory – 11 years after Conchita Wurst’s previous win.
