With over 1.4 billion Spotify streams, “Arcade” leads Eurovision’s all-time charts – discover the the top songs dominating global Spotify and YouTube play counts.

The song “Arcade” by Dutch artist Duncan Laurence, the Eurovision 2019 winner, has become the most-streamed song in Eurovision Song Contest history, exceeding 1.4 billion Spotify streams.

From TV Event to Streaming Powerhouse: The Evolution of Eurovision

Recent data confirm Eurovision’s transformation from a contest evaluated by juries and public voting into an international sensation measured by streams, views, Instagram Reels, and TikTok content. For nearly a decade, releasing a Eurovision song has been a full-scale digital marketing endeavor – Spotify plays, Instagram trends, and YouTube views now play a role as significant as the live performance itself.

Duncan Laurence has set an almost unreachable standard for future contestants. Close behind is “Snap” by Armenian artist Rosa Linn, which has accumulated more than 1.2 billion Spotify streams – even though it finished only 20th in the Eurovision 2022 final. This milestone highlights that today, the true impact of a Eurovision song is measured more by clicks than by points on the scoreboard.

The Top Global Eurovision Streaming Hits

Judging by streaming numbers alone, Loreen, with her song “Tattoo” (her second Eurovision win for Sweden in 2023), has surpassed 714 million Spotify streams. Italian winners Måneskin’s “Zitti E Buoni” (in English: “Shut Up and Behave”) stands strong with over 550 million streams, while ABBA’s “Waterloo”, the 1974 winner, continues to thrive with more than 420 million.

It is not always the winner on stage who dominates Spotify – Mahmood, for instance, finished second in 2019 with “Soldi” (in English: “Money”), but with over 259 million Spotify streams, he outperformed winners such as Lena from Germany (101 million, 2010) and Salvador Sobral from Portugal (36 million, 2017). Sometimes, it is the song’s popularity and the artist’s performance that bring “global streaming fame”, rather than the final contest result.

Eurovision’s YouTube Sensations

On YouTube, the contest showcases remarkable diversity among top performers. Russia’s Little Big leads with “Uno” (296 million views), while Israel’s entry “Toy” by Netta is second (261 million). Måneskin’s “Zitti E Buoni”, Alexander Rybak’s “Fairytale”, and Loreen’s “Euphoria” are also among those with the highest YouTube view counts, proving that Eurovision songs continue to find huge audiences even years after their debut.

The Netherlands at Eurovision 2025

“C’est La Vie” is the title of the song performed by Claude, who represented the Netherlands at Eurovision 2025. The Netherlands qualified for the Grand Final after placing third in the first semi-final with 121 points. In the Grand Final, the Netherlands finished in 12th place with 175 points, with the jury awarding the country fifth place, but the public at home ranking it only 15th.

This year, the Netherlands participated in the Grand Final after two years of missing out. In 2023, Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper failed to qualify from the semi-final, while in 2024, Joost Klein was disqualified after the semi-final due to a violent incident involving the competition’s production team.

Eurovision 2025: This was the Netherlands’ 65th participation in Eurovision. The Netherlands joined the competition in 1956, was one of the seven founding countries, and has won it five times over the years. The Netherlands’ last victory was at Eurovision 2019 with the song “Arcade” performed by singer Duncan Laurence.
