The host city of Eurovision 2026 in Austria will be announced tomorrow. But Eurovision 2018 winner Netta Barzilai, who always guesses and misses, has already revealed her prediction.
Where will Eurovision 2026 take place? For Netta Barzilai, the iconic Eurovision 2018 winner, musical brilliance is undeniable, but when it comes to predicting the host city, her track record proves otherwise. Year after year, Netta makes her predictions with enthusiasm – and always misses the mark. So will she finally get it right, or will another miscalculated guess be added to her tradition of misses? Just before tomorrow morning’s big announcement, it’s time to reveal where Eurovision 2026 will (not) be held, according to Netta Barzilai.
Netta’s Prediction for 2026
This year Netta Barzilai is betting that the host city of Eurovision 2026 will be Innsbruck. If that’s the case, Vienna can already start preparing, because she has never once managed to guess correctly in the past.

A Tradition of Missed Predictions
The tradition of Netta’s “Eurovision host city prediction” began with her 2018 victory. At that moment, while holding the trophy, she declared firmly: “Next time in Jerusalem”. Reality, however, proved otherwise, when Tel Aviv was chosen to host Eurovision 2019. Since then, Netta has carried on guessing which city will host the contest, yet each time her forecast turns out wrong. This ongoing streak has become a trend among Eurovision fans. Some even claim that her guesses can be used as “reverse reading”: if Netta predicts a particular city, fans sometimes hope for the opposite, ensuring that the actual location is the one they truly desire.
Here is a summary of Netta Barzilai’s predictions over the years:
- For Eurovision 2019, she predicted Jerusalem, but the organizers selected Tel Aviv.
- For Eurovision 2020, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she bet on Amsterdam, while Rotterdam hosted the 2021 contest.
- For Eurovision 2022, she guessed Rome, but Turin was chosen.
- For Eurovision 2023, she predicted Manchester, while Liverpool hosted the event.
- For Eurovision 2024, she chose Stockholm, but Malmö was the host city.
- For Eurovision 2025, her guess was Geneva, but Basel was selected.
Official Announcement Coming Tomorrow
Tomorrow, between 07:30 and 08:30 CEST, Austria and the EBU will announce the official host city. According to ORF, the announcement will not necessarily include the exact date of the grand final, which is expected to be either May 16th or May 23rd, 2026.
“With Vienna and Innsbruck, we have two strong contenders that are fully capable of hosting the world’s biggest television entertainment event”.
Said ORF CEO Roland Weißmann in a statement to the media. Eurovision producer Michael Krön also emphasized the creativity and dedication of the project teams from both cities.
Will this be the first time Netta Barzilai correctly forecasts the host city, or will her guess, true to tradition, once again prove wrong? The answer will be revealed tomorrow.
Eurovision 2026: The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Austria, following the country’s third historic win with the song “Wasted Love” performed by JJ. This will be the third time the contest is hosted in Austria, after 1967 and 2015.
