Greek-American singer Evangelia aims once again to represent Greece at Eurovision 2026, submitting her new song to ERT’s national selection.

Evangelia (full name Evangelia Psarakis) has become a familiar figure in the Eurovision sphere. Over the past few years, she has persistently sought to represent Greece and Cyprus, submitting entries for both countries’ selection processes. Some of these songs were later released as singles, including Ónira” – submitted for Greece’s 2022 selection, Aphrodite – submitted to Cyprus’s internal selection the same year, and Pali, sent in 2023.

In 2025, she competed once more in the Greek national selection, finishing second with Vale, just two points behind Klavdia, who went on to represent Greece at Eurovision 2025 and placed sixth in the final.

Determined to Reach the European Stage

Recently, it was revealed that over 70 songs have already been submitted for Greece’s 2026 national selection, “Ethnikos Telikos 2026”. With submissions closing on November 2, additional entries are still expected. Among them will be one from Evangelia, who announced through a social media video that she had finally found a song she’s satisfied with and plans to submit it to the Greek national broadcaster, ERT, in the coming days:

“Hello from NYC. I just finished recording vocals on a song that Jay (Stolar, her partner who is also a songwriter and music producer) and I have been working on in LA all week. He just sent it to me. I have my song. I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

In the video, the singer wrote “Eurovision 2026,” thereby confirming what many fans had eagerly anticipated.

Evangelia’s decision to return to the national selection doesn’t come as a surprise. In an interview with Euromix last March, she hinted that she would likely participate again in the selection process for representing Greece or Cyprus until she finally reaches the big stage.

The song submission phase is a key part of Greece’s Eurovision selection process. While some countries use televised competitions to select both their artist and song, Greece employs a unique, internally managed format. From all submitted tracks, 28 will move forward to compete in two semifinals.
