Romania’s national broadcaster TVR has unveiled the full list of artists and songs submitted to Selecția Națională 2026, including several familiar Eurovision names – among them a past Romanian representative.

Romania’s national broadcaster, TVR, has officially revealed that 101 songs have been submitted to the national selection show Selecția Națională 2026. Alongside the impressive number of entries, the broadcaster also published a list of participating artists and song titles.

All will compete for the chance to represent Romania at Eurovision 2026, set to take place in Vienna, Austria, on May 12, 14, and 16. The grand final of Selecția Națională will be held on March 4, where Romania’s official song and artist for Eurovision 2026 will be decided.

After a two-year absence, Romania confirmed its long-awaited return to the Eurovision Song Contest, generating excitement among fans eager to see the country return to the competition’s stage.

Notable Artists Among the Participants

The list of contestants competing in Selecția Națională 2026 includes several familiar Eurovision names and intriguing comebacks—among them, a former Romanian representative who previously reached the Grand Final.

  • WRS – Represented Romania at Eurovision 2022 with Llámame, qualifying for the final and placing 18th overall.

  • Dayana – Recently competed in Moldova’s national selection with Doina, finishing fourth. For the Romanian selection, she submitted two songs, including “Cry a River”, which she previously attempted to enter in Moldova but did not pass the audition phase.

  • Maxim Zavidia – Competed in Moldova’s selection this year with Allo and finished sixth.

  • Valleria – Entered Moldova’s national pre-selection this year with Valerian Steel (15th place) and will now compete in Romania with the same song.

  • Sasha Bognibov – A long-time Moldovan selection contestant who last year reached the final, which was later canceled.

Selection Process and Competition Format

On February 5 and 6, TVR will begin its internal screening process to narrow down the list of 101 submissions. Between February 9 and 11, the remaining artists will take part in live auditions before a professional jury.

Romania at Eurovision 2023

“D.G.T (Off and On)” is the name of the song performed by Theodor Andrei, who represented Romania in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2023, held in Liverpool, United Kingdom. The song placed last in its semi-final with zero points, sharing a tie with San Marino. This was the first time Romania finished last and received no points in the competition.

Eurovision 2026: This will be Romania’s 25th participation in Eurovision. Romania joined the contest in 1994 and achieved its best result both in Eurovision 2005 and Eurovision 2010 when Romania finished in third place.
