Tonight at 20:10 CET, the second semi-final of “Supernova 2026” takes place, with five more songs advancing to the final. A live broadcast link is available below.

The second semi-final of “Supernova 2026”, kicks off tonight. Twelve artists will compete this evening for five coveted spots in the grand final. The semi-final will be held at Riga Film Studio in Riga, the capital of Latvia, and will be hosted by Ketija Šēnberga, Lauris Reiniks, and Māra Sleja.

The five winners from today will join the five winners from last week and advance to the grand finale. One extra spot in the final is reserved for a decision by Latvia’s national broadcaster LTV, which may grant a second chance to a song that did not initially qualify. Latvia’s representative and song for Eurovision 2026 will be chosen during the grand final, set to take place on February 14th in Riga.

Among the competitors are several familiar names:

    • Robert Ox – The stage name of Roberts Memmēns, until 2024 part of the band Citi Zēni, who represented latvia at Eurovision 2022.
    • Miks Galvanovskis – Competed in 2017 with the song “Runaway“, finishing eighth in the second quarter-final, returned in 2022 with the song “I’m Just a Sinner“, finishing fourth.

    • Legzdina – Competed in 2025 alongside Bel Tempo with the song “The Water“, finishing sixth.

    • Edvards Strazdiņš – Competed in 2024 with the song “Rock n’ Roll Supernova“, finishing sixth.

    • Papīra Lidmašīnas – Competed in 2024 with the song “Mindbreaker“, finishing tenth.

Supernova 2026 Dates:

  • First Semi-Final – Saturday, January 31st, 2026.
  • Second Semi-Final – Saturday, February 7th, 2026.
  • Grand Final – Saturday, February 14th, 2026.

In each semi-final, 12 contestants will compete. From each semi-final, five are expected to qualify to the grand final, making a total of ten finalists. An additional spot remains at the discretion of LTV, which has the option to grant a second chance to a song that did not initially qualify for the final.​




Latvia at Eurovision 2025

Bur Man Laimi” (in English: “Song for Happiness”) is the name of the song performed by Tautumeitas, representing Latvia at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. The song is performed in Latvian – the first song in Latvian sent since 2004!

It placed second in the second semi-final with 130 points, reached the grand final, and finished thirteenth with 158 points – Latvia’s second consecutive qualification and highest achievement since Eurovision 2015.

Eurovision 2026: This will be Latvia’s 26th participation. Latvia debuted the contest in 2000 and achieved its best result in 2002, when Marie N won with the song “I Wanna”.
