From Felicia to Carola, find out which Eurovision and Melodifestivalen icons are taking over Sweden’s massive summer music shows.
Sweden stands as one of the most successful countries in the Eurovision Song Contest, and diving into the nation’s television programs makes it entirely clear why. The nation celebrates the event all year round, and artists from Eurovision and the Swedish national selection, Melodifestivalen, receive far more than 15 minutes of fame. During the summer, popular sing-along television shows take place across Sweden, where participating artists perform their hits and covers of other well-known songs weekly, while also involving the audience in the singing.
A notable number of artists with connections to Europe’s largest music competition are integrated into these programs. Netta, the winner of Eurovision 2018 with the song “Toy”, participated in one of the shows following her victory, as did the Italian band Måneskin, who won Eurovision 2021 with the song “Zitti e buoni” (in English: “Shut up and behave”). So, who has received the honor this year?
Allsång på Skansen: A Swedish Summer Tradition
“Allsång på Skansen” (in English: “Sing-along at Skansen”) is a weekly Swedish television program broadcast every summer. Each week, the show hosts well-known artists in Sweden, who perform their songs and sing along with the live audience. The program is filmed at Skansen in Stockholm, the oldest open-air museum in the world, which showcases all regions of Sweden with houses and farms from every part of the country. The program began as early as 1935 and has grown in scale since. Since 1979, the show has been broadcast on the Swedish national broadcaster SVT, which also broadcasts the Eurovision Song Contest and Melodifestivalen.

The Swedish Summer Never Stops Singing Eurovision
The Swedish summer proves once again that the country’s love for the Eurovision Song Contest is a celebration that lasts all year round, extending far beyond the official week of the competition. The impressive combination of past and present stars – ranging from the fresh 2026 representatives to the historic winners of the contest over the decades – on the stage of “Allsång på Skansen” and during the “Diggiloo” tour, transforms Sweden into an extraordinary musical summit every single summer season. For fans of the contest, this provides a perfect opportunity to extend the Eurovision experience and enjoy the greatest hits in a warm, community atmosphere, demonstrating precisely why Sweden remains an undisputed Eurovision powerhouse.
Sweden at Eurovision 2026
“My System” is the song that was performed by the singer Felicia, which represented Sweden in the Eurovision Grand Final on May 16th, in Vienna, Austria, and came in 20th place. The song was written by Felicia Eriksson herself, together with Audun Agnar, Emily Harbakk, Julie Bergan and Theresa Rex. This is the first Eurovision entry by all songwriters. The song was performed entirely in English.
Eurovision 2026: This was Sweden’s 65th appearance in the competition. Sweden joined Eurovision in 1958 and has won the contest seven times over the years. The country’s most recent victory came in 2023, when Loreen won with the song “Tattoo”.
