History in Bangkok: The Eurovision Song Contest expands to Asia for the first time. In the 70th year of the European song contest, the mega-brand crosses the continent’s borders! The first Eurovision Asia will be held on Saturday, November 14th, 2026, and will be broadcast live from Bangkok, Thailand’s capital.
The planned event marks a peak moment for Asian music, sharing it with the international audience. Viewers worldwide will be able to closely follow the national finals of each country, take an active part in the voting, and directly influence the identity of the songs that will be performed on the big stage in Bangkok.

11 countries will participate this year in Eurovision Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand, which hosts the contest in the capital city, Bangkok. Out of the 11 participating countries, three have chosen a song and artist, and two others have selected an artist without a song.
Song and representative: Bhutan was the first to choose through a national final, selecting Nyndera and the song “Lhayi Semo“. Following that, the Philippines chose Carmelle and the song “Sobra-Sobra through their national final. Most recently, South Korea selected Junhee and the song “Deep Dive” through a local national final as well.
Representative without a song: Malaysia chose singer Aina Abdul and Vietnam chose Tóc Tiên. The two singers were selected through an internal selection by the local national broadcasters.

Nepal: National final – “Nepal Decides”. The selection was scheduled to take place on September 19th but was postponed to October 7th due to severe flooding in the country.

Building a New Musical Platform
Eurovision Asia 2026 will be the inaugural event of the new song contest, based on the European Eurovision format and held in collaboration with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The contest is expected to be held on November 14th, 2026, in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, and will mark the beginning of a new initiative designed to unite countries from across Asia through music, similar to the model that made Eurovision one of the biggest television events in the world. The participating countries will send one representative with an original song, who will compete for victory in an international show featuring live performances and voting by the public and juries.
The contest is produced by the company Voxovation, which holds the franchise to hold Eurovision Asia in partnership with the EBU, aiming to create a new musical platform that gives a stage to artists, creators, and cultures from all over the continent. In recent weeks, the contest has gained significant interest, especially following the release of three of the songs that will compete there – from Bhutan, the Philippines, and South Korea.
