Belgian National Final Format

In each semi-final, four contestants will perform a new version of a Eurovision song, followed by their original song with which they are competing to represent Belgium in Basel. After each semi-final, the performed songs will be released on streaming platforms. The results of the selection will be determined by a combination of public votes and professional jury votes. This balanced approach ensures both audience engagement and expert evaluation in choosing Belgium’s representative.

VRT has already filmed two programs this month that will be broadcast in January, demonstrating thorough preparation for the selection process.

Belgium in Eurovision 2024

Singer Mustii represented Belgium in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2024 with the song “Before The Party’s Over”. The singer and song were chosen through an internal selection by the Belgian national broadcaster. In the Eurovision semi-final, the song placed 13th with 18 points, and therefore did not advance to the grand final. This is Belgium’s lowest result since Eurovision 2019, when Belgium also failed to qualify for the final and placed 13th in the semi-final.
