The Belgian national broadcaster unveiled this morning the contestants for the Belgian Eurovision National Selection, Eurosong 2025, and the date when the Belgian representative for Basel will be chosen – February 1st.
The Flemish-Belgian national broadcaster, VRT, revealed this morning the eight contestants expected to participate in the Belgian Eurovision national selection “Eurosong” for Eurovision 2025. Additionally, the broadcaster disclosed the date of the national selection final where the Belgian flag bearer for Basel will be chosen – February 1st, 2025.
Contestants in the Belgian Eurovision National Selection
Jelle Van Dal first gained fame in 2008 when she was chosen in a talent competition to be the new singer of the electronic music group Lasgo. Earlier this year, she participated in the “Sing Again” program broadcast on VRT, featuring singers who had previously participated in various talent shows.

Stefanie Callebaut was the lead singer of the band SX until 2022, and subsequently moved to a solo career where she mainly performed with an extinct dialect of the Flemish language from western Belgium.
Seppe Herremans, or by his stage name Red Sebastian, also participated in the singing show “Sing Again” where he reached the final and even performed a duet with singer Jelle Van Dal mentioned earlier.
Grace Khuabi won the Flemish version of “The Voice” in 2021, and began her musical career in the Belgian version of the musical “Hairspray”.
Le Manou is the stage name of Manou Maerten, who previously participated in the Belgian pre-selection for Junior Eurovision in 2009 and finished second. Le Manou has a repertoire of songs in French, despite being Flemish.
Mentissa is the winner of the Flemish “The Voice Kids” in 2014, and later placed third in the French “The Voice”. Mentissa manages her career in French as well, and currently serves as a judge in the Walloon (French-speaking) version of the same format – “The Voice”.
The last candidate in the pre-selection, Len Neefs, is an anonymous newcomer trying his luck by uploading cover versions of famous songs on TikTok. He is the son of Belgian singer Gunther Neefs and grandson of Louis Neefs who represented Belgium in Eurovision 1967 and 1969.
Eurosong 2025 Format
The Eurovision national final is planned for February 1st, 2025, with a combination of televotes and professional juries determining the winner. The Belgian national broadcaster, VRT, will film two shows in December to be broadcast in January, where the participants will appear and reveal their songs for the first time.
On November 18th, ticket sales for the shows will open, although the exact location of all the shows is still unknown.
Belgium in Eurovision 2024
Singer Mustii represented Belgium in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2024 with the song “Before The Party’s Over”. The singer and song were chosen through an internal selection by the Belgian national broadcaster. In the Eurovision semi-final, the song placed 13th with 18 points, and therefore did not advance to the grand final. This is Belgium’s lowest result since Eurovision 2019, when Belgium also failed to qualify for the final and placed 13th in the semi-final.

Eurovision 2025: This will be Belgium’s 66th participation in Eurovision. Belgium joined the competition in 1956 and was one of the seven founding countries. Belgium achieved its best result in Eurovision 1986 when singer Sandra Kim won first place with the song “J’aime la vie”.
