ERT confirms the dates for Sing for Greece 2027, with two semi-finals and a grand final in Thessaloniki ahead of Eurovision.
ERT, Greece’s national broadcaster, closed submissions last night for the Eurovision national selection “Sing for Greece 2027”, which will take place in Thessaloniki ahead of Eurovision 2027 in May in Burgas, Bulgaria. According to a published list, more than 60 artists have submitted songs to the selection, with up to 20 entries set to advance to the semi-final stage. The first semi-final will take place on Tuesday, February 9th, 2027, followed by the second semi-final on Thursday, February 11th. The grand final is scheduled for Saturday night, February 13th.
Our Greek colleagues and friends at Eurovisionfun have published a list of artists whose submissions to “Sing for Greece” are confirmed. Several familiar names appear among them:
- RIKKI – competed in the 2025 Greek national selection with “Elevator” and returned in 2026 with “Agapi” (in English: “Love”).
- Tania Breazou – has submitted songs to represent Greece several times over the years.
- Barbz – competed in the 2025 national selection with “Sirens”.
- Stylianos – competed in the 2026 national selection with “You & I”.
- Nafsica – competed in the 2025 national selection with “Unhurt Me”.
Two notable absences from the published list are singers Evangelia and Xannova Xan. Both artists have sizeable fanbases among Eurovision followers, and their names frequently come up as prominent potential candidates to represent Greece at the contest. However, the list is apparently not exhaustive and includes only artists whose submissions our Greek friends have been able to confirm with certainty.

Semi-final stage decided solely by the public: How the format will work
During the 2027 season, up to 20 songs are expected to compete, divided between two semi-finals. Out of these, only 12 songs will qualify for the grand final. This represents a slight reduction in the number of participants compared to the 2026 national selection, when 28 songs competed across two semi-finals before singer Akylas was selected with the song “Ferto” (in English: “Give”).
The decision in the semi-finals will be determined solely by the home audience (Televote 100%), without intervention from a judging panel. In the grand final broadcast, however, the voting mechanism will change: the identity of the winning song and Greece’s representative for Eurovision in Bulgaria will be determined through a weighted combination of public votes and jury points.
This coming February, Thessaloniki will become the central meeting point of the Greek music industry, with an event expected to provide unforgettable moments and officially mark the beginning of Greece’s journey toward the Eurovision stage in Burgas.
