The bidding process for selecting the host city of Eurovision 2027 has concluded: the EBU, together with the Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT, announced today that Burgas will host next year’s contest in Bulgaria! Eurovision 2027 will mark the 71th edition since the competition’s establishment in 1956.

Burgas Wins the Host City Bid
Burgas secured the right to host the contest next year, after surpassing Sofia’s proposal. This will be Bulgaria’s first time hosting Eurovision, following the victory of DARA at Eurovision 2026 held in Vienna, this past May.
For Burgas, this will be the first time hosting a Eurovision event, following Sofia’s hosting of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2015. The selected venue, “Arena Burgas”, can accommodate approximately 15,000 spectators during music performances. Unlike last year, the host city is not the capital city of the winning country, similar to the contests held between 2019 and 2025.

Burgas is the fourth-largest city in the country, with a population of approximately 189,086 residents as of December 2025.

Eurovision 2027: The 71st Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Burgas, Bulgaria, following the country’s first historic win with the song “Bangaranga” performed by DARA. This will be the first time the contest is hosted in Bulgaria.
