Denmark at Eurovision 2025: Sissal won the Danish national selection and will perform the song “Hallucination” on the Eurovision 2025 stage. Listen to the song.
“Hallucination” is the name of the song that will be performed by singer Sissal, who will represent Denmark in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2025 to be held on May 15th in Basel, Switzerland. The song was written by the singer herself, along with Chris Chordz, Line Spangsberg, Malthe Johansen, Linnea Deb, who wrote among others the winning song at Eurovision 2015, “Heroes“, Marcus Winther-John, who wrote the songs for Andorra at Eurovision 2009 and Cyprus at Eurovision 2023, and Melanie Wehbe, who wrote the songs for Denmark and the UK at Eurovision 2019, Sweden at Eurovision 2020 and Denmark at Eurovision 2024. Apart from Deb, Winther-John and Wehbe, this is the first song by the writers to compete in Eurovision. The song is performed in English.
Sissal took the stage in a black, sparkling bodysuit, her hair flowing in the wind. She was later joined by two dancers who portrayed the song’s story, showcasing an exceptionally strong relationship. Sissal delivered an energetic and colorful performance that perfectly highlighted the song. The performance was tailored precisely to her strengths as a singer and to the song itself as an upbeat pop track.
The song describes a connection so strong with another person that it feels almost unreal – like a hallucination. This experience completely changes the speaker’s perception of the world, making them see colors they’ve never noticed before and question what they thought they knew. There’s a sense of losing control, but also of a new revelation where the world changes and darkness dissipates. As the singer herself said, “it’s about meeting someone where the connection feels so real that it almost seems unreal.”
The singer won the Danish national selection held tonight (Saturday) and competed against seven other contestants, with Sissal reaching 2nd place in the public vote at home, and 1st place in the judges’ vote.
The Danish national selection was held in the city of Herning at the Jyske Bank Boxen stadium, hosted by Sara Bro and Stephanie Surrugue. The winner of the national selection was determined by a vote split by 100% public vote choosing three songs to continue to the second round, and 50% international jury and 50% public vote in the second round.

Lyrics of “Hallucination”:
You show me more
More than meets the eye
You open all the doors inside my mind
I see colours I never saw before
A thousand shades of light come to life
Making me question all that I thought true
All that I’m seeing through you
My vision’s blurry but I can see clearly
Maybe I’m losing control
You’re my hallu-u-u
Hallucination
Hallu-u-u
Hallucination
I’m paranoid
Slipping from reality
You’re leading me into another fantasy
Oh, making me question all that I thought true
All that I’m seeing through you
My vision is blurry but I can see clearly
Maybe I’m losing control
You’re my hallu-u-u
Hallucination
Hallu-u-u
Hallucination
A new-ew-ew
Revelation
Hallu-u-u
Hallucination
Worlds are changing
Darkness fading
I follow you to the end and now I’m changing
(Now I’m changing)
It’s a new sensation
(Worlds are changing)
(Darkness fading)
(My hallucination)
Hallucination
(Worlds are changing)
(Darknesѕ fading)
(My hallucination)
You’re my hallu-u-u
Hallucination
Hallu-u-u
Hallucination
Hey yeah, yeah…
Hallucination
You’re my hallu-u-u
Hallucination
Hallu-u-u
Hallucinаtion
