Ukraine at Eurovision 2025: Ukraine at Eurovision 2025: which famous Eurovision star will present the Ukrainian jury points during the Eurovision 2025 Grand Final?
The Ukrainian national broadcaster, Suspilne, has revealed that Jerry Heil will serve as the spokesperson for the Ukrainian jury during the Eurovision 2025 Grand Final. Jerry Heil, who performed last year in the competition alongside alyona alyona and achieved third place with the song “Teresa & Maria”, has been chosen this year for the exciting role of announcing Ukraine’s points.
A Family Connection: Jerry Heil’s Emotional Message
In an official statement, Jerry Heil expressed deep emotion about her new role: “Eurovision is a family. Once you become part of it, the bond is forever. It’s a safe place where you can truly be yourself, and where the music of your soul can be heard. Last year, we talked about our dream for Ukrainian music to be heard around the world not just from contest to contest, but continuously — and what a joy it is to see that happening now!”
She went on to address fans directly: “Dear divas, I promised we’d meet again at Eurovision 2025 — and I am keeping that promise. This year, I have the honor of announcing Ukraine’s 12 points at the most exciting moment for all the participants. And I know, from behind-the-scenes experience, that a wonderful musical bond will have already formed between the artists by that moment. That’s the essence of Eurovision — it’s not just a competition; it’s a true music camp, a festival of freedom and love.”
What’s Next for Ukraine’s Delegation?
Alongside the announcement of Jerry Heil’s role, it was confirmed that the Ukrainian delegation will soon head to Basel, where Ziferblat will have its first Eurovision stage rehearsal on May 3. Ukraine, which consistently strives to deliver a message of culture and unity, is looking forward to another impactful performance this year.
“We are musicians first and foremost,” said the lead singer. “The creative process is what brings us joy, regardless of the specific task related to the competition. Even if there were no Eurovision, we would keep making music — because that’s what we will live with even after May.”
Ukraine at Eurovision 2025
“Bird of Pray” is the name of the song that will be performed by Ziferblat, representing Ukraine in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2025, to be held on May 13 in Basel, Switzerland. The song was written by the three band members: Valentyn Leshchynskyi, Danylo Leshchynskyi, and Fedir Khodakov. This is the band members’ first song on the Eurovision stage. The song is performed in English and Ukrainian.
The song “Bird of Pray” deals with hope and a plea for life, love, and freedom in difficult times. The band asks the addressee (the bird or the beloved) to fly, live, and share their heart with someone who cares. There’s a sense of longing for freedom and deep human connection. The song combines feelings of nostalgia, hope, and a request for care and love, using the powerful imagery of a flying bird as a symbol of freedom and hope.
Currently, Ukraine is ranked 13th in the betting tables for Eurovision 2025.
