United Kingdom at Eurovision 2025: Which famous British TV star has been chosen to announce the United Kingdom’s national jury votes live during the Grand Final of Eurovision 2025?
On May 17, 2025, when all eyes in Europe (and the world) turn to the Grand Final of Eurovision 2025, a very familiar face will appear on British screens. Ncuti Gatwa, the renowned British TV star who plays the lead role in the iconic British television series “Doctor Who”, has been selected as the United Kingdom’s jury spokesperson and will announce the UK’s national jury points live during this year’s Eurovision.
Continuing the United Kingdom’s Prestigious Tradition of Spokespersons
The selection of Ncuti Gatwa places him alongside a distinguished line-up of famous names who have held this prestigious role in previous years, including Joanna Lumley, Catherine Tate, and Nigella Lawson. It’s a British tradition to give the spotlight to well-known and beloved faces, and this year, the national broadcaster BBC has continued that tradition by choosing one of the hottest actors of the moment.
As announced, the famous actor will present the United Kingdom’s jury results live during the Eurovision Grand Final, set to take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025. This marks his official joining of the BBC’s Eurovision family, which consistently integrates major names from British entertainment into its production.

What’s the Connection Between Doctor Who and Eurovision?
The choice of Gatwa is not only exciting—it also creates a fascinating link between two of the BBC’s most popular universes: Doctor Who and Eurovision. Gatwa, who plays the Doctor in the legendary series, will also appear during the Grand Final evening in a special episode of Doctor Who, titled “The Interstellar Song Contest”. In this episode, the Doctor and his companion arrive at the 802nd Interstellar Song Contest, where planets from across the galaxy compete for the top prize.
The contest will be hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal, a famous British Eurovision presenter who announced the United Kingdom’s jury votes at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, hosted the semi-final draw for Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool, and also hosted the UK’s national selection in 2018 and 2019.
Joining them will also be “the King of Eurovision” himself, Graham Norton.
The special episode will be the sixth in the current season of Doctor Who and will air in the morning on Eurovision Day—May 17. It’s a unique treat for BBC viewers and fans of both major franchises.
United Kingdom at Eurovision 2025
The song “What The Hell Just Happened?” is the name of the song that will be performed by the girl group Remember Monday, who will represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2025. The group will perform the song in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2025 which will take place on May 15th in Basel, Switzerland. Since they represent one of the “Big Five” – they automatically advance to the grand final on May 17th. The song was written by the band members along with Thomas Stengaard, who wrote the winning Eurovision 2013 song “Only Teardrops“, Julie Aagaard who wrote Austria’s songs in 2024 “We Will Rave” (24th place in the grand final) and Malta’s song in 2022, “I Am What I Am” (16th place in the semi-final). The song is performed in English.
The song describes a wild night of partying and mayhem, where the speaker experiences a series of crazy and unexpected events. The song expresses the desire to break free from everyday constraints, experience extreme situations, and feel freedom, even if it involves irresponsible or dangerous behavior.
These days Britain is ranked 14th in the betting tables ahead of Eurovision 2025. Listen to the British song for Eurovision 2025:

They have been friends since their school days. Initially, the group was known as Houston but changed their name to “Remember Monday” to avoid confusion with other artists.
They gained recognition after competing in the 8th season of “The Voice UK”, broadcasted in 2019, where they impressed the judges with their unique vocal harmonies. They also became popular on TikTok with various covers, including a viral version of Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls“. The band is now preparing for a tour and releasing more of their original music.
