Poland Eurovision 2025: Singer Justyna Steczkowska took the stage for her first rehearsal with the song “GAJA”. Stay updated with all the reports from Basel, Switzerland

Poland was the second country to hold rehearsals for Eurovision 2025 with an intriguing performance. Polish singer Justyna Steczkowska is the second contestant to rehearse on the Eurovision 2025 stage in Basel, Switzerland, with the song “GAJA”. Justyna will perform as song number 2 in the first semi-final, which will take place on May 13 in Basel. This year’s competition features 37 countries, including Israel with Yuval Raphael.

The performance closely resembles the version presented at the Polish national selection, but this time it has been adapted for a much larger stage. Justyna descends from the ceiling using two ropes. She wears a tight black suit, similar to the one she wore in the national selection, but without the shoulder fringes. Her look is reminiscent of Catwoman from Batman. She is joined on stage by four dancers-two men and two women. The dancers’ costumes differ from the previous version; this time, they wear gladiator skirts and high heels. The choreography in this version is more complex.

Visuals, Stage Effects, and Mythological References

The LED screen behind covers the full width and height of the stage, allowing the artists to create powerful graphic backdrops. Poland’s video art features spinning planets, water, and lava. These elements suggest the birth of the universe and connect with the song’s lyrics, which reference Gaia from mythology. At the end, Justyna rises back up to the ceiling, symbolizing the sky. At that moment, a fire-breathing dragon appears on the screens. The performance shifts slightly from mythology into the realm of fantasy, and Justyna evokes the image of Xena: Warrior Princess.

The pyrotechnics include smoke throughout the performance. Fire effects appear during every chorus and at the end of the song.

GAJA” is the song that will be performed by Justyna Steczkowska, representing Poland in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2025 on May 13 in Basel, Switzerland. The song was written by Justyna together with Dominic Buczkowski-Wojtaszek, Emilian Waluchowski, and Patryk Kumór, and composed by Justyna, Emilian Waluchowski, and Patryk Kumór. It is sung mainly in Polish with some English parts.

The lyrics focus on themes of power, creation, love, and time, using Gaia-the personification of the Earth from ancient cultures and Greek mythology-as a central figure. Gaia is portrayed as a divine force connected to all life and time, expressing feelings of betrayal and sorrow that can affect the world itself. Ultimately, “GAJA” explores the duality of love: it can inspire creation and life, but also bring pain, while time continues to influence everything.

Currently, Poland is ranked 23rd in the Eurovision 2025 betting odds.

Eurovision 2025: This will be Poland’s 27th participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Poland joined the competition in 1994 and achieved its best result that same year when singer Edyta Górniak reached second place with the song “To nie ja!”.
