Estonia’s Eurovision 2025 representative, Tommy Cash, held his second rehearsal in Basel with the song “Espresso Macchiato“. Stay tuned for all updates from Switzerland.

Tommy Cash, Estonia’s representative, is the fourth act to rehearse today on the Eurovision 2025 stage with his song “Espresso Macchiato“. Tommy Cash will perform as song number 4 in the first semi-final, scheduled for May 13th.

In the video published on the official Eurovision page, you can see the beginning of the performance, with Tommy standing center stage surrounded by security dancers and sliding his coffee cup as a sort of homage to Shakespeare (“To be or not to be”). The video is very short, perhaps to hint that we can expect surprises later in the performance…

Innovative Stage Design and Visual Effects

The LED screen at the back of the stage spans its full width and height this year, allowing artists to create highly impactful graphic backdrops. Tommy Cash used it in an interesting way, referencing set designer Florian Wieder’s original vision – he will employ a “mountain technique” on the screen to display an Alpine landscape. In contrast to the meticulously arranged Alpine view, graphics from the “Eesti Laul” will also appear, such as coffee cups and coffee bags with his name on them, creating that same organized chaos – only on a larger scale.

Tommy Cash plans to energize the audience with his performance, and since he goes on stage after a ballad and before a musically complex song, it’s clear that his running order works in his favor – the song is catchy, and the audience is expected to remember and connect with it.

Pyrotechnics and Special Effects

In terms of pyrotechnics, it has not yet been confirmed whether they will be used.

Estonia at Eurovision 2025:

“Espresso Macchiato” is the title of the song that will be performed by singer Tommy Cash, who will represent Estonia in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2025, taking place on May 13th in Basel, Switzerland. The song was written by the singer himself along with Johannes Naukkarinen, who wrote the song “Cha Cha Cha” performed by Käärijä at Eurovision 2023 representing Finland and finishing in second place. This is Tommy Cash’s first entry in the competition. The song is performed in English and Italian.

The song is a unique and upbeat track that combines hip-hop with a humorous and wild style. It describes an extravagant and exaggerated lifestyle, with lyrics full of funny and absurd imagery. Tommy Cash uses his distinctive style to critique and mock consumer culture and the pursuit of luxury, all set to an energetic and captivating beat that makes the song enjoyable and addictive.

Estonia is currently ranked ninth in the betting odds for Eurovision 2025.
