The Televote Winner Became a Continental Sensation
Baby Lasagna, the stage name of Marko Purišić, led the betting odds for Eurovision 2024 ever since winning Dora. His catchy rock song, inspired by the move from the countryside to the big city and the emotional farewell to pets and farm animals, ranked first in the public vote at Malmö with 337 points.
Although Croatia ultimately finished second, losing to Switzerland due to higher jury points, the song became a continental sensation, entering airplay charts across Europe. Achieving Croatia’s best Eurovision result ever, Baby Lasagna turned into one of the biggest national stars, admired for his energetic style, unique stage presence, and viral charisma. His growing popularity led him to perform alongside Finland’s 2023 Eurovision representative Käärijä in the interval act during Eurovision 2025.
Genuine Hint or Just a Tease?
The Croatian national broadcaster HRT has opened submissions for Dora 2026, with the competition set for February and featuring 24 songs. Whether his post is a genuine teaser or just playful trolling remains unclear, but one thing is certain — if Baby Lasagna returns to Dora, he will immediately become the leading contender for victory.
Croatia at Eurovision 2025
“Poison Cake” was the title of the song performed by Marko Bošnjak in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2025. Croatia failed to qualify for the grand final, breaking the country’s recent streak of success. The song finished 12th out of 15 entries in its semi-final, receiving a total of 28 points.
Eurovision 2026: This will be Croatia’s 31st participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Croatia joined the competition in 1993 and achieved its best result in Eurovision 2024 by finishing in second place with the song “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” performed by the singer Baby Lasagna.
