Monroe:

Monroe  is a 17‑year‑old opera singer, born to a French mother and an American father, who grew up in the Salt Lake City area in Utah, USA. She took her first steps in music as a child in her local church choir. Her major breakthrough with French audiences came only recently, when in January 2025 she won first place in the 11th season of “Prodiges,” the classical music talent show broadcast by the French national broadcaster.

Her musical style is characterized by a distinctive blend of classical music and pop. In November, she released her debut album under the major label Warner Music , featuring classical performances alongside cover versions of timeless pieces such as “ L’Hyme to Love ” by Édith Piaf and “ Over the Rainbow ”. In December, she became a viral online sensation after her performance of the hit “ Berghain ” by singer Rosalía , accompanied by a pianist under the glass roof of London’s King’s Cross railway station, captured widespread attention on social media. Despite her young age, Monroe already has impressive stage experience, including a long concert tour in churches and cathedrals.

“Regarde!”:

The song “Regarde!” (in English: “Look!”) by Monroe is a dramatic and powerful operatic ballad that maintains a distinctly classic French character while evoking a dark and hypnotic atmosphere. The piece opens with a dramatic violin introduction that accompanies the song throughout, while the chorus reaches its climax by transcending lyrics into impressive operatic vocal notes that highlight the singer’s vocal capabilities.

n terms of content and message, the song and the music video complement each other, dealing with a Sisyphus-like search for love in the streets of Paris. The title of the song, meaning “Look!”, serves as a direct call for internal and mutual observation: Monroe demands that the listener look at love as it is – an “electrifying” and fateful force that beats to the rhythm of the heart and dispels loneliness.

The visual journey, which begins with a young Monroe and evolves into a meticulously choreographed display within a magnificent Parisian structure, reinforces the feeling that love is a discovery that must be acknowledged and looked at with open eyes. It seems that the combination of classical opera and modern production aims to recreate past successes in the competition, while maintaining a prestigious, somber, and uncompromising aura.

Lyrics of “Regarde!”:

Quand tout s’illumine
Dans tout Paris
Que les rues se vident
Je reste ici

J’ai cherché ton amour
Dans tous les faubourgs
Je chante tous les jours

Regarde-moi, regarde-toi
C’est ça l’amour, ça te foudroie
Regarde-moi, regarde-toi

Regarde-moi, regarde-toi
C’est ça l’amour, ça te foudroie
Regarde-moi, regarde-toi
C’est ça l’amour
Tu ne seras jamais perdu

C’est ça l’amour
Il est partout
Il est là, là, là

Regarde-moi, regarde-toi
C’eѕt ça l’amour, ça te foudroie
Regаrde-moi
