NeonoeN:
The band NeonoeN was formed in 2012 under the name Neon. The members are Marko Vukčević, the lead vocalist; Ilija Pejović, the songwriter and guitarist; Filip Vulanović, the bassist; and Milan Vujović, the drummer.
Despite years of activity, their first original single, “Ti i ja solo,” was only released in 2018. In 2023, a decade after their formation, the band decided to change their name to NeonoeN to avoid confusion with other bands sharing the same name.
Currently, the band is working on a new album, having already released two tracks from it: “Dok Ne Udahnem Te u” and “Dječak Sa Vjetrom U Kosi.”
“Clickbait”:
The song “Clickbait” explores the impact of social media and internet culture on our daily lives. The central message of the song is a critique of addiction to social networks and the influence of sensational headlines, highlighting their negative effect on our behavior and the blurring of lines between reality and virtuality. The song reflects how people are drawn into a virtual world of sensational content, quick reactions, and sharing, while neglecting real connections and face-to-face interactions. The overall message is a criticism of modern digital culture and its impact on human behavior and interpersonal relationships.
The song features several notable lyrics that illustrate this critique:
- Addiction to devices and screens: “I have various gadgets and screens, I have no time for company.”
- Obsessive scrolling: “As soon as I open my eyes in the morning, still groggy from the previous night, I’m already starting to scroll.”
- The influence of sensational headlines: “The headlines arrange themselves, as if they know what’s in my head.”
- Extreme emotional reactions: “I’m really in the mood for hate.”
- Lack of distinction between reality and virtuality: “It doesn’t matter if you’re gay or straight, I’ll take you on a date if you share a good clickbait with me.”
The song was written by Ilija Pejović, the guitarist of the band, and it marks his first entry in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Lyrics of “Clickbait”:
Ujutro čim otvorim oči
Još mamuran od protekle noći
Oko sebe se ne osvrnem
A već sam počeo da scroll-ujem
Naslovi se ređaju sami
Kao da znaju sve što mi je u glavi
Važne teme analiziram i počinjem da kriziram
Reklama kreće 5 sekundi, wait
(Clickbait!)
Baš sam raspoložen za hate
(Clickbait!)
Nikad nije too late
(Clickbait!)
Baš sam raspoložen za hate
(Clickbait!)
Nikad nije too late
(Clickbait!)
Nadražajno provodim dane
Imam razne gadget-e i ekrane
Za društvo nemam vremena
Jer svaki mi je minut ispunjen
Ratujem sa botovima
Trgujem screenshot-ovima
Aktivan sam, imam dobar rate
(Clickbait!)
Baš sam raspoložen za hate
(Clickbait!)
Nikad nije too late
(Click … bait!)
(Click)
(Clickbait!)
Baš sam raspoložen za hate
(Clickbait!)
Nikad nije too late
(Clickbait!)
Baš sam raspoložen za hate
(Clickbait!)
Nikad nije too late
Clickbаit!
