Key Dates and Selection Process
The contest will unfold in three main phases:
- Academy & Casting: September 2024 to January 2025
- Audition dates: September 26-29, October 17-19, November 14-16, December 12-14, January 9-11 and 23-25
- Semi-Finals: February 2025
- 4 semi-finals for non-San Marinese acts
- 1 semi-final for San Marinese artists
- 1 “second chance” semi-final
- Grand Final: February 22, 2025 at Teatro Nuovo Dogana
The first stage of the San Marino national selection includes registration for the competition and the “casting” phase, through which 80 contestants will be selected to proceed to the semi-final stage. This will consist of four regular semi-finals, an additional semi-final for local artists, and a “second chance” semi-final. From these semi-finals, 11 artists will advance to the final, and the winner will be chosen by a panel of five judges.
The casting will be set up at the San Marino Outlet Experience in Falciano, which is the same location as the previous edition.
How to Enter Una Voce per San Marino
Registration for the competition is already open, and applications can be submitted on the website: unavocepersanmarino.com. The competition rules can be found at the provided link. The registration window is open until December 31, 2024. Singers from all over the world are invited to apply.
For San Marino citizens, the registration fee is set at Euro 50, while it is higher for other participants.
San Marino’s Eurovision Journey
San Marino has been using Una Voce per San Marino to select its Eurovision entry since 2022. Despite not qualifying for the final in recent years, the country continues to attract international talent.
The local competition aims to include both new and established artists from around the world, “in the name of musical quality and the ability of ‘Una Voce per San Marino’ to serve as a springboard in the international music industry.”
San Marino in Eurovision 2024:
“11:11” is the name of the song performed by the band Megara, which represented San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 held in Malmö, Sweden. The band participated in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2024 but did not advance to the grand final, finishing in 14th place in the semi-final with only 16 points, 10 of which came from Spain.
